Finally added my Vortex Impact 4000 LRF to my Delta 51 today. Didn't have actual readings on the velocity for the ballistics input so I guessed on it based on previous load data. Set up in the woods and shot over the barn and into the field at a deer target. Pushed the button and ranged it at 301 yards. Dialed elevation as shown on the Impact (didn't have much wind so just held slight left). My velocity guess must've been a little on the high side given my first shot. Adjusted and my next four were pretty good. Not practiced shooting kneeling from a tripod but not bad for 300 yards. Having the LRF mounted to the rifle is pretty sick.

was bored yesterday so i got the Tac ops out of the safe and played with my new KTL rack at 400 yards. 1st 4 you can run as fast as you can throw the bolt. The small one you have to take a little more time on. now to move out a little further.

When I spoke with Mike last night, they had just regained power after 3 days, and aside from smoke and ash everywhere, they have so far been unscathed. Pics he sent were bleak.
