Took bit of a hiatus in shooting over the past several years. Really, took a break from a lot of hobbies and let work consume me. I'm finally getting back at it, was shooing a 6XC mainly, but today decided on the 300 PRC. Hopefully, I made the right choice! Plan on getting out to a mile and back into some long range comps. Went with a Sig Sauer Cross Sawtooth and I have an unused Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x56 that'll top if off. Any suggestions on ammo to get me started and back into the long range shooting? Thanks in advance!

Thanks! I will be definitely looking for reload data as well. TVP is about 1.5 hours from me. Tom built my 6XC, great range to visit!
I haven't tried the Berger factory ammo (the only load they have is for the 245gr EOL hunting bullet). I started out with the 225 ELD Match Hornady ammo and it was pretty good...until Covid supply problems caught up with them and it went to crap. It was still very accurate at 100yds, but the ES/SD was horrible for ELR use. I ended up with this load:
Lapua brass, 230gr Berger LRHT, Federal 215M primer, 78.1gr Retumbo, MV Avg of 2895.

So I've heard. I run the 245 LRHT in the 300 Norma, but I felt like 245 might be a bit on the heavy side for the PRC. No valid reason other than just a hunch. I'm sure it must be OK or Berger wouldn't be loading it as their only option for 300PRC. but it does surprise me that they don't also do a 215 or 230 like they offer for 300 Norma.

They show a 215 option on their site? I run 245/250's in a 30SM which is basically just a PRC improved, works mint, I have heard that with the 230 a-tips it's basically even dope to the 250's what you lose in BC you make up in speed.

I was speaking of the 300 Norma, but yes. The only Berger factory ammo for 300PRC I've ever seen is the 245EOL.

Before Covid, I shot a lot of factory ammo in 300 Norma and 300 PRC. Since 2021 it all sucks, so I'm just loading for everything now. The 300 PRC gets the 230s, the 300 Norma gets the 245s, and the 338 Norma gets the 300gr (all are Berger LHRT or OTM Hybrid Tactical).
