Texas Star target

I was gonna start with a Mac then move to a glock lol
I’m not sure how well a Mac would do, but have shot a star on the clock with Single Action and double action revolvers, all flavors of shotguns, semi auto handguns, lever action rifles, and Pistol Cartridge Carbines. They Defenitely challenge a shooter especially when using different guns. The hardest part is trying not to laugh when a shooter empties a standard capacity mag and has to reload to finish the target. 🤣

I bought this off Ebay, the first one was missing some hardware so I contacted them and showed them pictures of the messed up UPS box. I just wanted the missing hardware, they weren't interested in that, they sent me another complete target. I then bought hardware to complete the original. When I ordered them they were noted as AR500, these things don't note that anymore, I doubt mine are, but I can't tell, don't even know how to tell.

So I have two of them, I bought 4" plates extra from Amazon to use on the one I put at 11yds, the target comes with 8" plates, the 2nd one I have at 30yds with the 8" plates.

These sit at my personal range in my backyard, so they aren't seeing tremendous abuse, but they've been absolutely fine, no dimpling, no bending, no nothing, motion is good.
I shoot them with my 9mms and I shoot, primarily, 147gr FMJ flat nose for practice ammo. All pistols, no carbines.

Been thinking of blasting one with the 500 S&W just to see what happens, the little 4" plates are more fun, they really fly when you hit them, the 8" just tend to drop straight down. Measured the one 4" at 15', it flew back. The 4" are very noticeably smaller though, good practice, difficult.

Ordered it, "just to see," and ended up with two like noted, they've been great. My only rifle is a 458 lott, won't be testing them with that, but if you want me to pop one with the 500 S&W, let me know, I'll put an 8" plate back in the 11yd target and blast it.

What ones have you had luck with I see them from $300-1000+

One of the clubs I belong to bought a Magstar target from Red Stitch Targets about 5 years ago. It's an absolute beast and has spent that entire time out in the weather on our 25yd pistol range without any issues. I can't recommend the target enough, knowing how much we've abused it over the years. We ordered ours with the optional AR500 support post, which makes the target $950 before shipping, so towards the top of your price range.

Another vote for Redstich. Their stuff is used at many 3gun matches, local and majors. Darin the owner is a really good guy. I have a friend with a private range with a star, spinner, plate rack & 1/2 scale silhouettes that stay out in the weather without issue. I know people who have gone and picked up their targets after working out a package deal. MGM is quality stuff as well. If I ever have the property I seek to have my own range, I will call Darin to work out a package deal.
