A brief history of time...
Government didn't create our 'timezone' and standard time system. The railroads did. Because otherwise, you could not schedule trains. And they crashed into each other. The government had the Naval Observatory in DC (where the VP now lives) to handle timekeeping for Naval ships and coordinated to Greenwich Observatory in England... But once you got out into the countryside... every town and city had their own time. Generally based either off a Town Hall or Church Clock..
Then came Standard time... but that was NFG until someone could come along and make a watch accurate enough to keep the trains running on time. And, no, not talking about EIchman. But Webster Ball.

His company is still around and makes beautiful watches and they don't even break the bank!!! Old "Railroad Grade" pocket watches are pieces of art. And (except for, well, real Ball Watches) are dirt cheap because noone gives a crap about pocket watches any more. Youngerns don't collect them... noone carries them. Which is a shame. The pocket watch, the fountain pen and the 35mm camera were three magnificent mechanical creations that used to be everywhere but now are all replaced by ghey-assed iPhones.
Get rid of Daylight Savings. Bring back the pocket watch, the fountain pen and the mechanical camera!!!!

PS. One of my New Years 'goals' is to stop using my stupid iPhone and start using a real camera again. Digital and film. And to unpack my darkroom from storage and start making Photography great again!
PPS... I'll add my own Clavin if called for....
