Painted/Cerakoted rifle chassis

This is spray paint but some ideas. I just sold this chassis, but I’ll probably reuse that pattern some day
Cerakoted stock I picked up off the px a few years back. Never found out who did the cerakote though
I see a lot of these and they are badass, are you just using a big sponge to apply this?
Does the Krylon stick to the chassis well or will it peel after time. Nice work. I have a Magpul Hunter thats gotten a bit scratched, thought it might be a good one to experiment with.
Taped everything off that I didn’t want paint on. Bolt, pressure relief hole, safety, trigger etc. then sprayed it with big stripes for a base. Tore off a piece of sea sponge and did alternating sizes with that lighter dirt tan color. Fun project if you wanna get a little artsy. Very cheap project lol.
Before you go balls deep, practice on something else disposable/unimportant
Some folks “prep” the surface with sandpaper or something. All I did was clean it well with shotgun cleaner spray. Could use brake cleaner too. Just gotta be careful. After I sprayed it all, went over it with a layer of matte clear coat.
I don’t suspect it to be super durable. It’s just krylon. But it’s also not going to matter if it gets scratched up/worn. It isn’t a flat single color. It’s already broken up.
Just me though. YMMV. Everyone has different preferences.
It turned out better than I thought even with the little imperfections here and there. My friends who have seen it in person all think it's awesome lol.
Sorry typo, the two tan rifles on the tripods in the second pic was wondering if that was sprayed with Rapco field drab.
Went a slight different direction with an Oryx chassis that my 223AI normally sits in. Pretty much a competition gun/range gun.

Beautiful. I don’t know how much it weighs but that looks like a legitimately practical (target/hunting/varminting) set up. What are the specs. I’ve wondered about the JAEs, decent?
Not OP but I’d guess 19-20lbs without a bipod. Looks like an MTU/Comp Contour barrel.
This is the MDT remake- it’s overpriced and not particularly good for anything. I strongly recommend against them.
