I wish they would just sell barreled actions like Howa and have a variety of weight/length barrels. That way you can save some money and pick the stock you actually want.

100%. It would be a damn near perfect product. There are a number of excellent chassis manufacturers that exceed anything that’s come stock with a Tikka rifle.

Exactly. Manners, MDT, McMillan, Bell and Carlson, GRS, SCA…there are plenty.

I acknowledge they’ve delivered improved stocks with the TACA1 and UPR offerings, but probably still better off offering high quality barreled actions that pass on savings to the end user.

As somebody who's been running a UPR semi-customized for almost 2 years now as much as that stock is nice it lacks basically all modern features and I have a friend who shot my Tikka once and his balls went Kaboom and he went and found a used Tac A1 and that shoots pretty good and is ergonomic but I second or third then just selling barreled actions hell I'd be happy if they just sold actions for around 500

If that is the Ace the rifle looks good, especially the two stage trigger and some basic but reliable calibre options (.308/.223/ 6.5CM)…why they omitted a decent 6mm option is a wonder though? I reckon an off the shelf 243, 6Dasher, 6BR or 6CM would be a success. They are claiming compatibility with third party and proprietary accessories. RRP seems pretty reasonable as well (I’m looking at this in Australia and they are advertising $3200 AUD…surprisingly good).

Still…a straight barrelled action option is an opportunity that Tikka fails to capitalise on.

Makes me wonder what % of Snipers Hide posters build their rifles vis a vis buy factory. I wouldn’t be surprised if upwards of 75% of posters are custom (components) builders.

Not a lot of folks run the UPR, but I really like my 20" UPR 6.5 Creedmoor. Its a great hunting riffle stock with basic features of a long range design (adjustable cheek piece, vertical grip). Its at the smith getting a new barrel.

I'd be interested in knowing how many Tikka consumers change anything on the gun, I'd bet it's not more than 10%. My guess it that SH members are a mere drop of water in the ocean of the Tikka market. Could be wrong though.

This is absolutely correct. Most Tikka owners roll with the factory stock. I have 2 Tikkas myself and one of them is still in the cheap factory plastic (my 223 that I use for NV for coyotes/hogs). My CTR precision rifle is in a Manners though.

On the bottom left there’s a “see more” option that expands the chart, however I still couldn’t find a difference in the models I was looking it. Perhaps chassis cerakote color?

Ya, I'm guessing cerakote but there's 14 sku's for 223. Eight are 20" variants and six are 24" variants. Maybe it's all paint schemes.

Too bad they didn't take the pepsi challenge and figure out a solid folding hinge.

I'm also curious about the interchangeable magwell components.

I'm semi interested in the Game version. Some interesting possibilities with NRL Hunter. A person could allllmost squeeze it into light class if they went with a brake. Bipod choice would be challenging. The ACE Target definitely seems like the perfect 223 trainer option.

Too heavy for NRL hunter, too light for PRS. Plus did no one notice the Tikka weights and how they attach? Lose all use of the side mlok slots for INTERNAL weights.

9lb base weight. NF NX8 in rings weigh 2lbs. SRS TI brake weighs 2oz. Harris and Atlas CAL weigh 1lb. CkyePod is preferred but weighs 1.5lbs. It will easily fit Heavy. And it might fit Light of you make concessions on the bipod.

Maybe you are right. Me personally I don't really understand factory class. I don't own a single rifle that is still in factory configuration and doing so is completely uninteresting to me. As far as competition, I've never been interested in winning a minor class amongst some relative noobs. I want to win the entire match; overall standings.

Sure. I'm not here to argue. Whether you think a class or division should exist is irrelevant. Were talking about a new product and what role it was designed to fill. Its a factory offering that should, if outfitted with an optic, mount and bipod, fall into the criteria of said class. But it wont. Not saying its not a great NRLH rifle, its just not a Factory class NRLH rifle.

Agreed. It looks like a great open heavy rifle for someone who wants something they can shoot out of the box, but ideally the gun would be light enough to shoot in Factory class with a triple pull (like the Seekins NRL rifles).

That said, I'm still excited about the rifle and will likely end up with one.
