The last item on my bucket list is shooting a steel target at 1000yds. The closest 1000yd rifle range to my home is California tactical academy near lake Piru, CA.
I have never shot there and what like to hear from anyone who has experienced shooting there at 1000yds. Do I have to qualify and have a spotter to shoot 1000yds? Should I shoot paper and if so can I drive to the target area? I have over 10years of experience shooting 223 Remington at 400 to 625yds at Pala shooting range. My farthest distance is 862yds with a 243 Winchester. I am planning to do this in April for my 84th BD. I will have acquired a Savage 110 tactical in 6.5 Creedmoor by then and already have the Arken scope. Thanks in advance for any info.
