i have been worried that they were going to kill Trump before he could either get sworn in, or on the walk route. i have been really hoping someone would come to their senses and cancel that bullshit.....he hasn't a second to spare and should NOT be taking any chances.

just saw they are now planning an indoor inauguration. i feel a lot better about that. not to say he/we are to let our guard down, but at least someone is seeing the obvious.

Yes- very tough to beat Kamala Harris in a Presidential Election.

Stand around for ten minutes and pick the best looking "candidate" out of the crowd at any metro stop in DC during rush hour- that person, man or woman, could defeat Kamala Harris in an election.

But is it a coincidence that they moved it inside after they took the safeties off the Chinese drones? ;-)

Don’t forget President Harrison (elected 1840) died after catching pneumonia at his inauguration. Stood outside and gave a 40 minute speech. Became bedridden the next day and died a month later.

So… why take a chance?

My understanding is, it will be the Capitol Rotunda. He will do the Inauguration (Swearing in) and then the Inaugural address there. I did hear something about them opening up one of the huge sports stadiums (not sure which) for those who would have gathered on the Capitol grounds, outdoors, and Trump will make an appearance there and address the crowd, after the inauguration. Probably easier to secure something like that (bullet proof glass dais, etc.). We'll see.

Let's hope Cpt. Michael Byrd is not on duty for the Capitol Police, that day!

Edit: I hear the "stadium" selected will be the Capital One Arena

the concern is assassination. of course, those people mocking it are just trying to create an opportunity or pissed they just lost one.

the added benefit is the time and money saved. take the oath, get to work. every minute wasted with ceremony, is a minute that could have been used unfucking things.

There might still be a parade, but without him being in it. He might review it from the secure dais at the WH, as happened at the first inaugural.

And still be in parade.

Just standing for long periods in cold (and not moving) invites trouble on more ways than one!

As long as they don't publish the locations of those "short sections" where he gets out. As long as they are random. And, as long as he arrives at the WH under a secure entry to then proceed to the reviewing stand inside that bubble. Sucks to think we'd have to do that in these times, but they are, in fact, "these times."

Americans don't do pony shows, but rodeos. Results matter a lot more than pomp and dazzling lights. There is a reason why the USA does not do the whole goose-stepping and missiles down the road nonsense that other 'superpowers' love to do. We don't need these to showcase our power. If somebody attacks the USA, they tend to find out that they done fucked when their skies start farting.

Executive orders to clean up rot and deportations are already at the top of the immediate things to do. Perfect timing in cohesion with the fact that leftist pols all over the world are failing and MSM is scared shitless of major shift right by every modern country around the world.

I remember when I was a kid growing in Maine. On the 4th of July our small town all came out at the school for a makeshift parade. Folks dressed up and decorated their vehicles. One of my classmate’s sister was a baton girl, and she was in the parade, doing her flips and spinning the baton. That used to happen every year.

What happened to this country? When did we forget how to celebrate being American. When did we Patriots forget how to set the example of how to celebrate being American.

We bitch endlessly about this country being taken by the Democrats and the leftists. But when we see a small piece of it getting taken back at least for a small time that’s not caused for celebration? In my mind it is.

Lord knows I’ve been the been very critical of Trump in the past. But we have real short memories how many of us would’ve put serious money down on him getting back into the White House again. Like him or not, it was an epic journey.

I have faith that the Military would know the system well enough and attempt to use it to "run out the clock" on FJB before having to commit to that kind of presidential order that could be extremely costly for the US... both in re: lives and property $$$. I mean, we might actually be talking "enemies, foreign and domestic."

I'm more worried about who his "last day in office" pardons will be (Faucci, Garland, His son, Chris Wray, Liz Cheney, etc. etc. etc.). I want to see those people face the appropriate justice!

Is it everyone? No. Betting there are a lot fuming quietly and biding their time. But I also bet there are a shit ton who are looking to go full "Pudge Vindeman" on the new admin. and won't be 'noticed' until after the damage is done. Social Justice Warriors take many forms... and wear uniforms.

The 'leave behind' saboteurs are going to be everywhere. Every agency. Office. Department. From Secretaries to Generals. And rooting them out will be like clearing the rats out of Cu Chi, Falujah or Stalingrad.

Yeah, that's going to be rough. Maybe what Trump should do is issue an order threatening the heads of these agencies with being "fired" if they don't assist in rooting out those DEI-Pushers. I mean, he probably should fire them all anyway, but....
