Suppressors Want another 30 Cal Suppressor, considering Jolene S

I am looking to pick up another 30 cal rifle suppressor. I have a few suppressors but haven’t purchased one in several years other than an OCL Lithium 9 I just ordered that was motivated by a purchase of a Marlin 1894 SPL 357 Mag. My main center fire rifle can is an Omega 300 I picked up 9ish years ago. I am happy with it and use it in both direct threat configuration and with the Area 419 mount set up. I often end up shooting 2 + rifles when I go to the range and would like to have second suppress for that.

The main rifle I will use this suppressor on is a Christensen Arms Ridgeline 6.5 Creedmoor barreled action in a Grayboe Phoenix stick so wanting to go with something fairly light weight. I also am interested in recoil reduction and use my Omega with the anchor break as it does reduce recoil more than the flat front cap.

The Omega 300 is fairly short and not heavy with a Rearden titanium direct thread mount so I’m tempted to just go for an Omega 300 DTM as it seems like a good value and something I am already familiar with. But when doing some research the Jolene S keeps coming up as a light weight option that gets great reviews for not much more than the Omega DTM and it’s a few ounces less.

I’m about set to just go with the Jolene S but wanting to do a final check and get input. Seems like a great light weight option for a good price. Will I be giving up any recoil reduction compared to an Omega 300 with the anchor break? Should I just spend the extra money and get a Scythe Ti?

Since weight is a concern, I'd take a look at:

OCL Hydrogen S
TBAC Ultra 7
Abel Theorum S
Diligent Defense S-Ti

Those are all right around 10oz.

Yeah, the Jolene S is full titanium and seems priced very well for that. It also gets very good reviews for suppression and recoil reduction from the reviews I’ve seen.

I am really leaning towards the Jolene S, it seems like it fits what I’m looking for at only 8.3 oz, 6.72” and at a good price. The reviews I’ve seen rate it well for suppression and recoil reduction.
I’m also tempted to go with the Scythe Ti and that’s what got me excited about a light weight suppressor. Just wondering if it adds noticeable performance for the extra $350 over the Jolene S.
Anyone have experience with either or both and have an opinion?

I’m happy with the recoil reduction from my Omega with the Ancho brake it came with. I can tell the difference vs using it with a flat end cap. I’m assuming it has better recoil reduction than a lot of other 30 cal suppressors that only have a flat front cap option but don’t have any others to compare it to.

Just added a Jolene S a few weeks ago and took it out on one range trip thus far. I love how light it is and the price is great. Anymore, the titanium standard cans should be priced closer to the Jolene S. The Scythe is essentially the same suppressor for twice the money. Both are standard welded baffle stacks without much difference. If you are going to go Scythe, then you need to be looking into 3D printed titanium for better suppression in the same weight range.

Have you, or anyone else, shot the Scythe and the Jolene S side by side? I’ve shot the full size Jolene and the Jolene S side by side. As you might expect the Jolene S was a little louder than the Jolene.
I’ve been considering getting either the Scythe or the Jolene S but would like know how the two compare before buy one.

I really like my Nomad Ti XC. Just as quiet if not quieter than my Magnus S, but shorter and lighter. Both are better than an Omega 300, which I also have.

There will be no real difference between the two. 7 baffles in the scythe vs 8 baffles in the Jolene, clipping will be the same or similar so overall they are as similar as two could be built, but the Jolene is $350 less, so for me it was an easy choice.

Have Jolenes, Enticers, Hydrogens and a Scythe Ti (I'm SOT) that I use often.

Pretty close between them. Scythe is really short, and a scootch lighter off the top of my head. Jolene S is the cheapest. Sound is pretty close, with the hydrogen S being the one I'd personally give the nod to, especially if you are pairing the 6.5 version with a smaller bore. Scythe might be a neater setup on a small magnum as the brake does change recoil a little. The min/maxing here starts getting into the weeds pretty quick.....

This grouping is my favorite "do it all" bolt gun suppressor. I genuinely don't think you will be upset with any of them, the differences between them really aren't much IRL. Would buy any of them with a very high degree of confidence, and maybe just use whichever you could actually find in stock at the moment as a deciding factor.

I don't have one yet, but I'd also say the Liberty Mach S should be in this lineup. I would bet you lunch that it ends up being one of the quietest of the bunch (the Mach L is really well done)

DDC Enticer S Ti is excellent, and also has Dead Air pitch end caps, if you want to run something like the Recoil X brake.

You should also try the new TBAC Magnus-S... It and my Hydro-S cans are my current go-to's for anything short-action and hunting.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Great to hear from someone that has used both the Jolene S and Scythe TI. The four you mentioned all fit what I'm looking for, so I'll keep an eye on any of them to come in stock.
