If you watch the video they go through just about every detail you are bitching about and yes you can adjust the brightness with the app. You might want to watch the YT video shown below so you know what you bought and what it can do without blasting a company on the interweb.
I'll read the videos. If I can't adjust it to look just like the sales literature, I'll come back and bitch and blast more.
To be fair, it does look like they replaced a heavily frosted diffuser lens with a clear one that hot spots like crazy.
Crazy that people think they'll get what they saw advertised.
Videos are usually watched and not read but most times that is BEFORE someone buys a product. I have a feeling that no matter the outcome you will more than likely have the inclination to come back and bitch and blast more

It's not the actual product.
Mine has a clear or slightly opaque cover and it works just fine after dialing down the brightness to my desired level.
If you don't like it. Return it. I believe MDT is coming out with a gen 2 send it level?
