Deputies in Cochise Co., Ariz. seize 10,000 rounds of .50 BMG ammo and nearly 20,000 AK-47 rounds, stuffed into vehicles and transported by 'asylum seekers'.

we might have a bigger problem than most american want to admit. i knew something was heading our way someday.

They couldn’t have dropped some off for me??? WTF???

We need to know direction of travel, this really points to terror attack if it's coming inbound.
so east bound in az almost to the state line, Benson but they could have headed south to the az boarder too.

if this would have been nabbed heading north we might have a clearer picture

but agreed, its ugly. that much ammo being sold in the US to head south seems unlikely on the surface.

East bound on I-10 near Benson.

10,000 rounds of BMG. That's heavy machine gun food. Enough for ten 50s and a full week of heavy offensive operations.

I'm thinking someone panicked at a safe house, took a chance, and stuffed it all 3000 lbs in a SUV. Those springs look flattened.

I do not understand the "illegal" aspect of the ammunition, and the article does not elaborate. AFAIK there is no law, state or federal, prohibiting anyone from possessing ammunition. Was it stolen?

until we know which way this was going, your thoughts might change.

did 545 all ready pretty much disappear, in any real quantity at least.
They were traveling *from* Phoenix. Would make sense as it would be easily purchased here. By anyone. Do not understand the illegal aspect of the ammunition.

Visitors to the US and non-immigrant alien visa holders cannot buy or possess firearms or ammunition without an exemption (any hunting license from any state counts as an exemption).

Thanks, did not know that. I work with a lot of resident aliens and a few own guns, and I have taken a few others out shooting with me. Was not aware of the visitor prohibition.

18 U.S.C. § 922(g)

Every time you fill out a 4473, the questions is there and it is referenced and explained in the instructions (Questions 21.c. - 21.m. Prohibited Persons). It applies to both firearms and ammunition:

g)It shall be unlawful for any person—
(1)who has been convicted in any court of, a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year;
(2)who is a fugitive from justice;
(3)who is an unlawful user of or addicted to any controlled substance (as defined in section 102 of the Controlled Substances Act (21 U.S.C. 802));
(4)who has been adjudicated as a mental defective or who has been committed to a mental institution;
(5)who, being an alien—
(A)is illegally or unlawfully in the United States; or
(B)except as provided in subsection (y)(2), has been admitted to the United States under a nonimmigrant visa (as that term is defined in section 101(a)(26) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(26)));

Not sure if the "undocumented" aliens Biden let in can get the exemption or not. Does Biden letting them in count as legal entry? If they didn't have a hunting license, it won't matter.

10K of .50 that's a lot of ammo. How did they find that much that was available legally? What store or distributor has that much on hand at one time? No, I don't think it was procured from different places over time, can't believe that before anyone suggests that.
I can get 5200 a mile from my house, delivered in a week...

There is no form required to purchase ammunition.

Ammo usually travels South, not North. Ammo is rigidly controlled in Mexico.

So this comes from military stocks or somehow the cartels got it into Mexico and are now taking it North.

It is kind of odd... This was definitely coming 'in' to the USA, right? Not seized on the way out?

Sirhr
So no RWS brass then?

Lots of ammo. I suppose so. The morons who will be using it and their ability, that is another question. Be kinda hard to miss 2 or 3 Ma Deuce's rolling about.....point being if people grow a spine and spot this nonsense cruising down their street it would end quickly for the morons...especially if the local hunters/outdoors men break out their .308......(I won't pontificate about that trusty caliber as all good goon squad members know the score)...game over.....:LOL:

like said above,who has that much of either in stock ready to go? 50 is what,$2-3/r? seems like cartels the only bunch with that much cash. this is very weird. hope we hear the outcome-LOL.

There's distributors out there sitting on many, many pallets. Just because you don't see it at a gun store doesn't mean it's not accessible.

I know of a family that orders 5.56 by the pallet from my LGS. Depending on the year he may come in and buy 1 or 3...

Same guy will also come in and buy a $3k rifle, $4k scope, and $1500 can.... Then ask for 5 more for his grandkids. Swipe the credit card.

He's old, he's worth a fortune, and he just can't think of anything else to spend it on.

East of Benson? Keep going to Wilcox, turn right and take the back way to Douglas. Either cross at the port or go left or right and cross over through some desolate country.
