We just need Trump to deputize for immigration checks every FT and PT sworn officer- down to the village level of gov't. Every single lawful police interaction that identifies/confirms identity of a person should also include immigration check- that way no one is 'profiled'. How else are we going to identify illegal aliens far inside our borders?
If we made a huge labor camp in the middle of nowhere, and filmed the inmates cracking rocks on a chain gang around the clock as punishment for being illegal, it would get the message across.
You get caught and then you have to do 5 years at the Gulag before you’re deported.
You get banned from application for re-entry.
People would self-deport after that and would-be immigrants would formally apply correctly.
A lot of other countries don’t mess around with this.
Hardly any of them recognize birth location citizenship.

Ya know, for a LOT of years, I've been an advocate of this type of punishment/deterrent. But this is a 'new era' and it is one that is rife with "going green for the environment" and almost everybody is on that bandwagon. (key-word there was ALMOST). So let's run with that premise, and go Gilligan's Island style by making stationary bikes out of bamboo and recycled kitchen utensils, running a small dynamo (or a fleet of them on each wheel) so that the bastards can pedal their asses off, adding to "the grid".
So that the electric cars and such can get charged easier/faster/better/gooder and all that.

It would be child's play for a few prison staff at the place the killer is being held at to arrange a most unfortunate accident and remove a pest from this green Earth who had contributed nothing but left a mourning family in his wake.

It turns out his Visa was valid and it was his female 21 yo companion that opened fire on the agent first. The two of them had been questioned and surveilled since 1/14 because she was seen out and about with a gun and both were seen dressed in black and body armor.
