If 3 lugs in a circular pattern are not better at equally distributing pressure around a round object and keeping things more aligned under said pressure, why do we use a 3-lug design for suppressor mounts, instead of a horizontal 2 lug? If 3 lugs were not better than 2 lug designs, then why is pretty much every action now a 3 lug, other than a select few? It's obviously better, or everyone would still be using 2-lugs they always were prior to the Browning A-Bolt coming out back in the day...
Also, the integral full-length top rail does increase rigidity and strength along the backbone of the action. While a bolted-on rail does help noticeably, it is still not as rigid and strong as an integral. This applies to more than just actions. This is common machinist and fabrication knowledge.

Their Solus action's merits has nothing to do with that, but I will agree that their CS has been in the shitter since mid-summer. Hope they get that situated, or they're going to lose even more customers.Here's a feature..... customer service.

Shoot, forget 2,3,4 or 9 lugs; my favorite is my Blaser R93’s 14 radial locking fingers. In reality, arguing over what’s best is kind of silly. My 2 lug Origin is the most accurate rifle I own, proving that after a certain point, it’s the barrel that matters most. It could have an integral rail and there would be no noticeable result of the increase in stiffness in the groups. I like both actions, Origin and Solus, both get the job done. Aero’s complete lack of even recognizing there is such a thing as customer service puts them squarely in the I can not recommend category despite their decent features for the price.
I agree, arguing over lugs is incredibly pedantic.
Whether your rifle is 2 lug or 3 lug doesn't matter at all on the firing line.
CS does matter, and Aero better get their shit sorted out. I would never recommend a product to someone that lacks complete support.
Nobody ever once said those or the Origin were bad actions. As a matter of fact, I've said they're both great actions. But everyone always tends to get their panties in a wad around the new kid on the block, when it challenges the already established builders. Look how many people are now running Arken & DNT scopes...And OCL cans... Personally, I bought the very first Solus action I have on a whim, because I got it on sale for like $650 at Primary Arms. I figured, if it works great and does what it's supposed to, and holds up, then i'd consider more in the future as a lesser-expensive custom action option to build on. They surprised me. All I'm saying is, don't automatically hate on something just because it's new and different.

The Solus seems like a nice action for the price. The shoddy CS seems like a genuine concern though.
No doubt about that... They're ruining what could be a great selling action by pissing on their customers. They had better get it figured out...And soon...Or there won't be anyone else buying their stuff at all......AR's or Solus...
The best thing Aero could do right now, is fire the GM and all his "guys" that be brought along over from all of his previous failures, and hire a whole new management staff.

I don't want to speak for him but that seems like our guy (he was at Crimson Trace as a Manager, then Stag as a GM, and now he's Aero's President of Sales/Marketing). I'm surprised he doesn't have pronouns in his bio.
If he's President of Sales and Marketing I'd imagine he'd be at shot show no?

Interesting. When I google “Stag arms customer service sucks”, I get thread after thread of the same crap customer service complaints now experienced at Aero. Why on earth did Aero hire him, he has a terrible track record?!
He's so bad he's almost acting like a poison pill going around wrecking the reputations of gun related companies one at a time. He's probably friends with someone on Aero's board of trustees or some shit.
The dude went to school at Lynn University. He's probably a liberal plant hell bent on taking down the gun industry from the inside.

I was at SHOT this week for a couple days and didn't get a chance to relay our current status on Solus actions. I apologize that this update status from Aero below is a week old. I will not provide opinions or remarks about the situation, simply the status on PVA's business with the folks here and with Aero.
Right now, 01/24/2025, all the Solus barreled actions that we have orders up to 1/10 for have the machine work completed on the barrels. The few orders we have since 1/10 are in process, but they're only 2 weeks old so this is less of an issue for those guys.
Everything prior to 1/10 is machined, polished, fluted, and many of them are painted if there was paint ordered. I don't think I missed any on the shelf when I went through tags and the status board today.
Unfortunately, we do not have actions yet. I posted our status request from 1/2/25 a while back in this thread. Last week I had a conversation with the sales rep regarding the delay. He ultimately spent quite a bit of time apologizing and saying that they're ramping up and that management knows that they over promised and under delivered. They're working on delivery/ship as well as production and especially CS backlog.
Below is the screenshot from their status reply after my call with them on 1/15. They asked me to reiterate that they know they messed up, they're fixing it, please be patient. It's been a very long week and I'm going to leave my computer at the shop and spend time with the family, I'll check back here monday.

Went and did some load testing on my 8.3” .300 BLK Solus, with the Hornady 190 Sub-X bullets. I used 10.5gr of Alliant 300-MP powder, and it was just a tad too hot, and averaged just over 1100 FPS (about 1105). In going to drop it down about 0.2 grains to be sure it stays subsonic, but hopefully it still shoots this amazing! I’m thoroughly impressed with this little pistol.
Here’s a 9-shot group before I finalized the zero. It was 10 shots, but I made an adjustment after the first shot, so I blacked it out, since it wasn’t part of the same POA group.
Here’s a sub-MOA 5-shot group a little while later after getting it completely zeroed. This thing is ready to smoke some whitetails inside of 150 yards.

Just put mine together. DNT optic, 1.25 (medium) Steiner rings, Last thing I'm waiting on is my atlas bipod with 419 arca mount.
Very interested to see how she groups up! Trigger is very soft and the action is nice and smooth.
The stock makes it difficult to use a cleaning rod. I tried jacking the cheek comb all the way up but it's still difficult to get in there correctly.
I suppose I could just take the stock off each time I wanted to clean it but that kind of sucks.
Just fits in a 48" box. I had more issues with the height than the length.
@1911Shootist are you still making check rests that work better for the Solus chassis? Some of these guys like @faylix might be interested in one.

If Aero keeps it up, I shudder thinking about the prices the used market would bear upon such an action.
I don’t own one, btw. But it’s nice that the barrels will work on an Origin, as you said.
