I talked to Byron, he said he doesn't have the votes to stop it. Bloomberg had the bill written as an extension of the magazine ban, hence more will fall in line.

Just like a black mold infestation. Leftist filth incubating and developing spores in the miasma of their cities, then dispersing into formerly clean places until they too are rotten and condemned.

CO and WA are possibly two of the most important cornerstones of 2025's RKBA fight so far. A semiauto ban and a mandatory liability insurance. Two purely predatory pieces of legislation designed to knock the community onto their knees. On a few other boards, they are saying that CO's vote is hanging on one Democrat right now and that up to two Democrats may have turned. If that is the case, we just need one more Dem who can be persuaded to stop this clusterfuck at least for his/her own career's sake so they do not look like absolute tards when an allied GRO lawsuit is filed in retaliation as it will most definitely be filed if this shit passes.

If they can be convinced by enough eloquent and to-the-point speakers on our side on Tuesday, we can put this nonsense to rest right there. These Dems need to be informed that going to the higher levels of court might mean that their other gun related past wins might be challenged and tossed. An appeal to their self interest instinct might work to get a couple more to wisen up and turn.

I was at the Colorado Capitol 12-14 hr days in 2013 fighting the magban and other bills in the aftermath of Sandy Hook. I was there when the magban passed and I was on the Senate floor when the mandatory insurance bill was defeated.

It’s a damn shame what is happening there now. Democrats are hellbent on turning Colorado into little California. They have done a pretty good job of it, sadly.

I gotta wonder if the video creator intentionally placed the title such that it reads “grab the porn…”

To expound on this a bit. In 2012 Coloradans voted to legalize recreational marijuana. Having a libertarian bend, I supported this. Little did I know the implications it would have for Colorado.

The turnout for the marijuana vote, gave the Democrats a trifecta control of the legislature. Shortly after the vote, Sandy Hook happens. Democrats roll out their gun control wish list in the 2013 legislative session.

Legalizing marijuana created a huge influx of left leaning people. This was the tipping point that turned to Colorado definitively blue.

Sadly gun owners fight like little girls. The writing was on the wall. I moved to Wyoming, as did Magpul.

Shortly thereafter Shannon Watts, the founder of Mom‘s Demand, moved to Boulder, Colorado. It was clear that Colorado was going to be ground zero. Coincidentally the mass shooting at King Soopers happened just a few miles from her home in the foothills. I used to stop and grab snacks there on my way to climbing in those foothills.

90% of Colorado gun owners will bitch, whine and complain about what is happening to their state. Less than 1% will so much as put pen to paper, let alone show up at the Capital.

I believe if gun owners ever got focused, they could easily stem the tide of these gun laws.

As an example, I would cite the rolling back of helmet laws across the country, while at the same time seatbelt laws became ubiquitous. The motorcyclist’s lobby decided that “those who ride should decide”. Do you think for one minute this was a majority opinion in society? No, it was a focused group who wouldn’t take no for an answer.

Yo, what do these fucking weirdos not understand about EVERY KIND OF PERSONAL SMALL ARM in current use by contemporary military forces being clearly defined in the 2nd Amendment as being both an implement of a soldier on the battlefield as well as a citizen enforcing his franchise??? And yes that includes bloop tubes and underbarrel launchers as well as they are not just built for explosive ordnance, but are extremely useful in other applications for smoke, pyrotechnics, etc...

In 2013 they tipped their hand. Colorado gun owners were put on notice. Magpul left and promise to leave behind resources to continue the fight. I have seen none of that.

We had several successful recalls, one of which was the Senate President who presided over the magban passage. Colorado gun owners had their bit of proverbial blood and this was the problem. The big ticket item would be the next major election and the Governors race. Gun owners stayed home and Hickenlooper won reelection. Democrats stayed in power.

This signaled to Democrats that gun owners did not have the tenacity or fortitude for a protracted battle. If Republicans were gonna kick ass and take names, it wasn’t going to be because of gun owners.

Most of our gains in recent history have been from the Supreme Court. We rode in on that wave behind the long-term vision of the “overturn Roe v Wade” movement. Gun owners falsely claim these victories as their own while sitting around eating Cheetos and talking about “when the Civil War comes”. The same people who can’t train or go hunting for more than half a day because they need to get home to the wife. The same people with a mortgage, kids and a brand new truck to pay off. Yeah, those people are gonna fight a civil war….. Give me a freaking break.

What is going on in Colorado right this very minute……… should have this thread on fire. This thread shows you just exactly how gun owners behave when there is a fight…….. Zzzzzz (yawn)

If this were a gay forum and they were picking away a gay rights in a certain state, this thread would be off the charts. It would be 40,50 100 pages by now.

If this were a motorcycle forum and they were instituting new helmet laws, the same.

If this were a marijuana forum and they were rolling back legalized marijuana, this thread would be 1000 pages

I’ve never been so embarrassed to be part of a demographic in my life as I am when the dems steamroll us with these anti-gun laws. Yes, there a good chance that much of these laws will be overturned someday by SCOTUS. And yes, gun owners will claim victory as if they won the fight.

The reality is, it will be a few actually doing the fighting. It is doubtful fellow gun owners will acknowledge those warriors, much less make sure they never pay for a beer…..

I'm not saying this is right, but I think one problem is that a person has a tendency to not be concerned what occurs in a state they have no connection to. I must admit, since I live in a very Red state with very permissive gun laws, it's easy to just shake my head at California and Colorado thinking that's who those people elected. This goes beyond just firearms, as those voters seem to keep voting for lots of stupid shit. As I said, probably not the way to think, as this kind of thing could spread. Just natural, I guess, to not worry about things that don't immediately seem to matter. Having said that, I do contribute to lobbying groups such as GOA, that fights no matter what state.

If you live in a red state it is of utmost importance to treat any newly arrived leftist like shit. Make their environment as hostile as possible so they leave.

This has been the case yes. Gun owners have traditionally thought this way about California.

Tell me…. If you were at sea and someone shot a hole in your boat, would you simply move to the other side of the boat, and keep fishing?

Gun owners typically brag about moving away from/retreating from blue states. Since when is “retreat” a battle strategy??…… It’s not.

Meanwhile the founder of Mom’s Demand moved into Colorado to win this fight. They understand that this is a war of attrition.

Having said all that, Colorado has plenty of gun owners to win this fight. This forum has plenty of Colorado gun owners. Where are they? Why aren’t they lighting this thread up?? Most of the gun owners I talk to in Colorado don’t even know this is going on. I’m the one sending them updates. They’re lazy, like most gun owners across the country. A scant few are at the Colorado capitol right now carrying this fight. The rest will cry, piss themselves and lament, like old women when it is all over.

I was implanted into CO back in 2017 due to the army. I was medically retired in 2021 due to seizures from past TBIs suffered while on my deployments.

I have contacted every congressional person I can in the state. Not a single message back from any of them.

This is what happens when you don't require ID to vote. This is what happens when they spend our tax dollars on illegals. This is what happens when you have people making laws who have zero clue about guns.

They have now passed a law where any ammo or reloading components cannot have any markings on the package as to what it is. Hence no DOT markings, hazmat and company name. Even if this bill isn't passed we will have no way to buy ammo or reloading components in the state.

Eventually it will make it's way to the supreme Court but how many years will that take.

This is utter contempt against the supreme Court of the USA.

We have tried the soapbox, and the ballot box. I'm sad to say what box is left at this point. These "lawmakers" don't care and don't stand for what we want in this state, Denver, Aurora and boulder basically control the state.

Not long ago on this very forum folks were saying we could never win another Presidential race because the “Democrats cheat 😭” .

Well we did win! I wasn’t buying that BS then and I am not buying that little girl cry baby crap now. Gun owners need to find their balls and their brains and stop letting “Boxed Wine Moms” kick our asses.

    Fill Stop.

Denver has a population of 719k roughly. I don't believe for an instant any of these fucking elections here. They arrested and sentenced the lady who was in charge of voter turnout and actual votes because she was gonna expose the information following the 2020 election. Well we never saw the true numbers and such. Colorado has a population of 5.7 million roughly. However we are told after every election that the Democrats won again.....anywhere you go outside of the Denver area is red. You see the flags and everything.

But yet somehow rye Democrats always win. So yes, until we see the actual votes and such, I definitely believe that there is rampant voter fraud and that's how they stay in the majority.

So if you, @Holliday , want to come here and prove there is no voter fraud and that we in fact hate our guns, I would love to see that shit.

So until you do, go fuck off.

I said years ago when they closed the chamber halls to all including the press that we were screwed. All state business is conducted behind closed doors. Let that sink in!!
Aside from 3 counties and some mountain ski towns the entire state is red. Fraud is rampant here and they know we know. Polis is using the new gun and ammo tax to create a new police force that only serves the governor. They will be responsible for holding gun shops accountable and upholding red flag laws etc...they have completely wiped their asses on the constitution knowing it will take years to get to USSC. They know it's wrong and don't care.

Oh I refuse to comply with any of this bullshit.

    Another fun fact:

They are also currently trying to to pass a bill that states that any ammo or reloading components have to be shipped from the manufacturer in a plain box. No company markings, no DOT stuff, no hazmat labels. So in fact if this passes, it will ban any ammo or components minus bullets and brass from coming into the state.

On its face that pretty much goes against all safety regs and guardrails but they don't give a shit about any of that and only want totalitarian rule.
They are dirty underhanded fucks and only look more desperate as a result.
To bad more people that are obviously not switched on don't get that.

ARFCOM is the only other place where a thread covering SB003 is continuously updated with title edits to reflect on the bill's progress. Somebody on Northeast Shooters made one too, but got very minute activity. The Firing Line has one too in their Legislative sub board and it surprisingly had more activity than NE Shooters, whose traffic is almost on par with us and ARF on slow days.

The Supreme Court and the rest of us can wipe our ass with thier bill the same way they wipe thier ass with the constitution.
    Fuck em all with chainsaw.
Didn’t they already try this and then the USSC come in and say they couldn’t do this crap? Someone correct me if I’m wrong but I seem to recall that already happening.

If only there was a document that affirmed that the right to keep and bear arms is not to be restricted. Oh wait, there is.

How about charges be filed against people violating the constitutional rights?

Stuff gets thrown out all of the time when cops, for example, violate the 4th.

In any case, no retreat, no surrender.

In 2013, I was updating a thread on Arfcom from the Senate Gallery and later the Senate floor. I would not become a member here until a couple months later.

The first day, I was invited by Zak Smith who would testify in committee late that evening. I was hooked and kept going down until it was over. On the Senate floor I was seated next to Dave Kopel. You’ll remember that his work was used in both the DC vs Heller and McDonald vs Chicago landmark 2A cases. It was an honor to shake his hand.

There are plenty of us here sending emails and making calls, seemingly to no avail. Are there plenty of CO gun owners that are lazy as shit, of course there are. The last AWB got shut down and hopefully this one will too. Im not sure what else to do but spread awareness. Ive talked with a few smart folks that think with the Dems bench being so weak Pole-us has his sights set on the presidency and he wont sign it because its too radical. As they saw with Harris, that far left is going out of style quick. I can only hope this is true but I somehow doubt it.

    “Plenty of us”

Well, that sure sounds like a big number. 😳
Likely a bad word choice on my part. Probably there arent plenty as that would indicate that we can beat it, which we may not be able to. Its definitely not all of us that are writing/ calling in like it should be but we all arent sitting with our thumbs up our ass either.

The Front range/Denver runs the state. I understand that "people vote, acres don't" but the votes coming from the people there control the acres that are here. The marijuana laws, wolf introduction, and gun laws are only some of the more visible controls forced by the Denver leftists on the rest of the state.

A few years ago I added up that half of the states population was within a 80 mile radius of Denver.

Now that Bloomberg and company is looking more to the states than the Fed, Colorado is ripe for the pick. Of note is the language in this AWB is noticeably similar to the one in New Mexico. There will be others.

I did make calls as well as sent personalized emails to the reps called out by RMGO. I would like to think it somehow helped sway the 3 Senate democrats that voted no. I will again, of course, send emails and make calls when it gets to the house (43 D, 22 R). And to Polis. I hear his concerns are calling firearms out by name and that he would rather see a federal action rather than state (as mentioned by zeroz above).

The story is that the carve-out of an FOID type card that would allow those approved to continue to purchase and posses the banned items was done to placate Polis. I believe this, "done at midnight, in the back room", was not well thought out and has a few problems. I haven't read the nuts and bolts of the version passed by the senate but understand a Hunters Conservation Certificate is the trigger for a reduced session to get the "FOID". Also, there are firearms exempted by name, described during the proceedings as hunting rifles. To me this indicates "hunting" is a concern of the unconvinced. Hunting is big business in Colorado.

If you're from out of state and thinking of a trip to Colorado, I believe a communication sent to whomever expressing that this AWB has you considering destinations in other states would get attention. If you're not, send something anyway. We would greatly appreciate the help.

For Coloradans the best thing to do is call and send emails. Encourage everyone you know to do the same. Snail mail letters carry weight because it indicates dedication. Start on Polis now, he needs to be backed into a corner. Donate to the gun groups if you can. Although they always seem to have their hand out, it does take money to fight this.

Sorry to be so long winded.

    Thank you,
    MrSmith

The USSC usually rules based on a very specific set of details pertaining to that case. Change some detail and the verdict can be challenged. Also, because it's not enforced, they don't care. Just pass it and let it get tied up in court. Therefore, donations to both sides. Cha-ching.

I was just speaking with a friend a few minutes ago. The Utah brother of one of his neighbors had closed on a house in CO. There were a couple of minor items found on the inspection. Instead of having them repaired he cancelled the purchase. Said it was because of the CO AWB. It begins.

    Thank you,
    MrSmith
