I’m looking for recommendations for someone to chamber and thread a barrel for me. Local to Central Texas would be great but I don’t mind sending it off for quality work. I have a proof CF blank, needing it chambered in 7PRC, threaded for a Nanook action, and muzzle crowned and threaded. I know there’s a lot of options, I just want to hear who yall trust.

Awesome thank you
Those guys mentioned above and:

- Our own Ern @AccuSol-ERN who has his own shop but also does very high qual work for Altus.

- Chase Fisher at Fisher T&C who is also on this site @FisherT&C - Very fast turn around time, high qual work, has a list of available reamers on his website https://www.fishertandc.com/

I have barrels spun by both of these guys and am very satisfied with both results.

If you want to keep it local, Rip Precision out of Leander. Top notch work. He does a lot of hunting rigs too.

LRI, SAC, Altus

Rip precision, south Texas armament, red beard gun works, di precision, there are a few notable smiths around “central” Texas.

A city will narrow it down a bit.
(Pva treats me right too though but aren’t local)

We can do it at PVA easy enough.

If you want a recommendation that isn't just "I can do it" then here are some others already mentioned in the thread that I'll vouch for as top notch guys too, no particular order

LRI, Straight Jacket, Fisher TNC, Hells Canyon, Alamo Precision, Flint River Precision
I will wholeheartedly recommend SAC too but I don't know if they offer prefits or if you'll need to send them the Nanook to do it.

Hells Canyon wraps cores for us and has chambered more than a few of our Ospreys with great success.
Fisher is a regular customer that uses our barrels for certain jobs and his stuff all shoots very well.
Straight Jacket I've known for years and they do nice work, they've gotten some Ospreys from us recently too.

The others mentioned in the thread I'm aware of but I've never worked closely with. Chances are pretty high that if they're being well recommended on this forum they're in business for a reason.

Basically, you're spoiled for choice to get your barrel installed, lots of us can do it at a very high level.

Excellent recommendations above.

If you want to stay in State, Mike Bryant, Wheeler TX

I bought my first custom rifle, that was built by him. Also had him rebarrel a rifle. I was happy with the results.

We do a lot of barrels for Hide members and others and we can certainly handle your project.

There are a lot of good recommendations on this thread. Here's a few other recommendations that I would use ( and have used in the past) if I wasn't doing them myself.

Short Action Customs
@Rubicon Precision
@LRI
Marc Soulie at Spartan

There are a bunch of us that can do what you need.

My advice would be to pick one you're comfortable using and stick to him. Develop a relationship with the gunsmith like you would your doctor or barber and it will serve both of you well for many years.

Welcome to the sport!
