Bought a ruger 22 arc bolt gun and went to look for starline brass and they dont make it...

My local store has alpha brass and hornady brass and loaded ammo.

    Hornady Brass, 100 pieces: $89
    Hornady ammo 100 rounds, $135
    Alpha brass, 100 pieces: $135

Whats the best bet to go with here for reloading for accuracy?

Alpha hands down unless you might be loosing a fair bit in the field.
I'm sure you could get good performance from th3 hornady brass if you don't mind weight sorting, uniforming primer pockets, deburring and uniforming flash holes and possibly skimming the necks to even them up.

    It’s $28 a box at my store.
I’ll probably get the alpha brass and 3 boxes of factory to get some rounds on the barrel before loading
I’d atleast try a box of it before I bought a bunch of Alpha. If this is a hunting rifle and you can get the performance you desire from factory ammo, I’d damn sure go that route. Unless you are the type that like to tinker, tune, analyze, tinker some more…..instead of being out hunting.

The Hornady ammo has come a long way. One of my shooting buddies is sponsored by them and he shoots/hunts with the factory 6cm stuff. He’s a coyote killing MF’r too.

Yeah definitely try some Hornady factory ammo. I shoot the 108 in my 6ARC and it’s very accurate and the es/sd are pretty low for factory ammo. I shoot it out to 1000 yards and it hits moa sized plates without a problem. Well as long as my wind call is good. lol

Unless you’re trying to get coyotes at 600 yards, the Hornady stuff is plenty accurate. But sure, if you’re trying to squeeze all the juice then the Alpha brass is a no brainer. I’d never buy Hornady brass but I’ll happily shoot the factory ammo and reload it. I’ve gotten really good accuracy out of my fired Hornady 6.5 creed brass, it just won’t last as long as my lapua and alpha.

For me the biggest advantage of 22ARC is being able to get factory ammo and just shoot. Once my 223 barrel croaks on my ARC nuke, I’ll just get a 22ARC and shoot factory. Go look at what the guys on rokslide are killing with the 75eldm and 88eldm out of their tikka in 223.

    How does it shoot?

Dude I got that same stock last month for $140 from Amazon. It was sketchy at first but sure enough it was legit. Same color on a Ruger American too haha
