Anyone have the details on the event that triggered the CZ600 recall?

So far all I know is one person was injured…. Recall so far as I know is just thread locker and epoxy on the bolts that lock on the barrel. Due to that I suspected the person who was injured had messed with the barrel installation and messed up head space or failed to torque the bolts to spec. Anyone know the details though?

I do not. I looked around for that info maybe a year ago and found nothing. I think CZ murdered their 600 lineup with poor engineering.

Their prev 527 line were neat little guns. They should’ve either kept the 527 line and/or improved it, or copied Tikka with their one-size fits all receiver.

If they wanted a quick change barrel, something like Terminus or AI would’ve been cool. Maybe there was a patent problem?

All I have heard is that replacement triggers will only be full ambi… 🤣

This may or may not be the reason for the recall.
It's the only info I can find at the present time.

If that's accurate....... what a stupid recall..... Did I hear him right? Did he suggest Colt was responsible for being retarded here, again!? Except now screwing over CZ and not just themselves *slams head on table*

At least it sounds like I can get parts through a gunsmith possibly...

Huh. Look at that. I knew there was some sort of QC barrel, but that is pretty slick now that I see it. I though they used grub screws…wait, I think that’s their rimfire rifles.

Anyway, that’s a legit channel, so there’s a good chance that that info is correct. Too bad that there might have been an over-correction on CZ’s part. Weird.

I guess on an AI or Terminus the whole thing wouldn’t blow apart if the QC screw is loose because you have to first screw the barrel in. A little more safety built into those systems. I’ll bet that’s why the lawyers freaked.

I duno... looks just like Allen head machine screws to me... Anyway, the design sounds absolutely fine to me. Like he said, you wouldn't blame the manufacture if changed the barrel on your AR15 and didn't put the barrel nut on, fired it and it blew up after a shot or two... this is almost the exact same issue. They didn't secure the barrel in the receiver, so when it inevitably slid forward after a few shots... the bolt couldn't grab the lugs in the barrel to lock the two together. Obviously pulling the trigger in that condition = boom.... you could have literally just pulled the barrel out by the sound of it with the bolt closed. 100,000% the fault of the guy that assembled it. Which I'm guessing, he got complacent / careless due to how good the design is, or maybe he was really tired who knows but not the designs fault.

The barrel retention design is very similar to the SSG3000. I have both and have removed/reinstalled the barrels many times without concern. Recall was Definitely due to user error

That's a dumb reason for a recall. I really wanted the Trail model, but every review had horrible accuracy.
Yeah the trail appears to have been, to me, not the model to get… the others seem fine and the Range model I sought out seems like a bargain for an out of the box Long Range rifle. 🤷‍♂️

i do wonder why there’s that meh performance in the tail… I swear in a video I saw of the stock removed the Range had 3 bolts while I think I saw a trail then it off the stock only had 2? May have been an S1 reciever?

The reason for the recall is that CZ, a once proud, innovative company that made excellent firearms, bought out Colt firearms,a dying American Company run by fucking morons that bankrupted Colt twice.
Then CZ put those same Colt guys in charge of CZUSA in order to run that organization into the ground by producing shitty guns.
Like the C600 and the new P09 Nocturn.
I WAS a CZ fanboy and own an original P09 and P07. Now they are just shit.

This literally added nothing useful to the thread.

i bought a trail for thermal night use. I also watched alot of reviews on it and most of the guntubers were using green tip and other shit ammo. A few were using decent ammo but we're shooting from a card table with shit rests. Here's mine, confirming zero at 65yds(gives me a mpbr of 265 yds without being over 2.5" over/under crosshair). These are 50gr vmax handloads that is good load in multiple 223 rifles, not tuned for this rifle. Foil is .75x.75"
