Tikka 300WSM Long Action Questions

Looking into building a 300wsm on a long action Tikka, for longer OAL. Going in a HNT26 stock and currently have a MDT 300WM for Tikka.

I have read that the feed lips can be manipulated on the 300WM mag to get this to feed the 300WSM. Anyone ever got this to work??

or maybe someone makes a spacer/follower kit for that mag? Just a thought.

Looked into this myself on Rockslide and it sounded like the 300wm mags will work with some tuning

Pretty sure the MDT 300 WM magazines will work, they work for a 7 saum. Waters mags with a tikka BM worked the best.

You can also use a CTR mag if you bend the feed lips out a little bit, that gives you about 2.97”. That may or may not be enough length depending on the bullet. If that’s enough you can run the 300 WSM in a KRG Bravo or a factory CTR stock.

I’ve used CTR mag for 6.5 PRC with great results and it will hold seven rounds

The dilemma I have is throating it out to about 3.1”. Might end up getting a different stock to maybe run “medium” magazines. Still waiting on barreled action from gunsmith to test with the 300WM magazines.
