Suppressors TBAC Magnus RR-K vs Area419 Maverick vs Without Warning CHAD

Appreciate the write up. I’m waiting on a Magnus K RR currently. Though my uses are not solely PRS, that was my main reason for getting it.

I’m coming from shooting prs with a plain Magnus though, I gave up on brakes a couple years ago.

Kind of kicking myself for not getting a S RR, maybe that will have to be my next.

I wouldn't think so... SilencerCo, Dead Air, etc all sell separate brake attachments for their suppressors.

The trick is that the item has to have an alternate use other than as a suppressor part. It's not an accident that SiCo, Dead Air, etc all also happen to sell blast diffusers that work with their suppressor end caps.

Another data point- I side by side tested the K-RR and KGM R30 on a 14lb .308 pushing 200gr bullets out a buss window. The K-RR was ever so slightly better as far as reticle jump. Now, the ports were at 3 and 9 so I'm excited to try 12 and 6.
I agree with the others above, the K-RR on a dasher was lackluster at best. KGM R6 with top ports open beat it significantly in terms of reticle movement.
Question since you have run both R30 and R6. With the R6 no longer in the lineup, I'm looking at R65K, R30K and R30 for primarily a 6ARC PRS bolt-gun. Would I be disappointed with an R30/K with a 6mm in terms of reticle movement? I strictly shoot suppressed now with a baffle 30 cal, no brake device of any sort. And I'd like to reduce reticle movement without going as far as Maverick in terms of trading suppression for myself and bystanders.

From my experience, the KGM cans seem to work best when they are caliber specific or short magnum and larger calibers. Most likely due to more gas flow. Basically I am not sure you would benefit too much by running a small case capacity 6mm through an R30 or R30K vs a standard non ported can. I really just like the small size and sound of the R6, but at the end of the day if I wanted to be more completive and remove half my reticle movement, I would just run a brake.

I believe some distributors might have some R6’s instock. I would call KGM they might be able to point you to the right distributor.

I run an R30K on a 6.5x47 and it does a great job of taming the concussion while limiting muzzle jump. I have not used a Maverick to compare it to.

Yeah, I think I've settled on the R65K for my 6ARC. I don't expect it to mitigate recoil as well as a Maverick, but I suspect it will be easier on the ears for both shooter and bystanders than a Maverick.

2 matches with the chad in the books. On the 6.5cm the recoil was definitely there, but it was straight back with little muzzle jump.

The chad on a 6gt was almost zero recoil. Slight push strait back but the barrel just didn't jump at all. Shooting off tank traps I was amazed how easy it was to get follow up shots off.

Now my buddies said standing next to the chad was like getting punched in the face but from the shooter, it's very minimal and comparable or better than the ace and ats in that reguard.

$600 is crazy for a muzzle break, but he did something remarkable with this thing. It works very very well. The only downside is cost and having to buy a few more of these....
Did you use the 6.5 diameter chad on the gt? Or do you have a 6mm diameter chad as well?

I am experimenting with this today today. KGM says close bottom ports to help with muzzle flip. there are 10 ports and I have the bottom 4 closed. I guess issue I might have is kicking up dust when prone. do you notice this? or have you tried shooting with any of the ports closed?
I shoot my KGM r6 with the top ports open from 9-3 o’clock. It really helps keep the muzzle on target when shooting positionally. And you don’t just any dust kicking up in prone.

I haven’t shot prone much, if at all, since getting my RRS a year ago. Just too much fun shooting off the tripod, and a little more challenging to boot. I would think tuning the recoil impulse by closing the bottom ports plus a few on the right side would be ideal, but I just run them all open for now. I’d like to hear your results.

I actually experimented today with the ports. I had closed the 4 bottom ports up, shot 5 rounds off and then opened them all up shot another 5 shots. I think I like the 4 bottom ports closed for barricade stuff. Will have to shoot a match with it and find out. I shoot 6 creed

so you are pretty confident the ports being closed on bottom did make a difference? I've never messed with mine on my R6 but if it actually does something I may

It’s always hard to say, Even when trying to find a good brake. Am I loading into the rifle more those particular shots to help with the recoil, did I get more settled into my bag, etc? I don’t want to say it was night and day noticeable but there might have been a slight edge. I’m shooting a r30. I’ve tried shooting with my TBAC ultra 7 with my 6 creed and it’s unfortunately still to much recoil. I use that TBAC on my 223 shooting 90 grains. I thought I would give another shot with this KGM r30 on the 6 creed

I don't shoot my R6 on my 6CM, I shoot a Nomad on that. the R6 just isn't enough can on a 6cm so it's reserved to .223 only. Honestly, I've not found anything I like better than Nomad for 6cm or 6.5cm. I'm really curious now if the ports will do anything for me on 223 gasser. (piston not DI)
