Or, it could also be a "tenant" (non HOA member, technically) in a house where the landlord is the HOA member. We have a lot of those in my PUD. Now, our laws say the landlord is responsible for the tenant obeying all the community rules, etc. so....
It said “Dear Non-HOA Homeowner”. Shit maggots trying to pressure someone outside their little kingdom.

I still don’t understand why anyone would voluntarily live inside the constraints of an HOA. I’d rather shoot off my big toe with a .22 than to put up with HOA bullshit.

When it's the only game in town.... Either that, or you search for an empty plot of land way out in the sticks somewhere and you have to build on it (and incur the time/expense of doing so) and it's far away from ancillary services (shopping, medical, car maintenance, mass transit etc. etc.). That's how it is in this part of FL. Most of it is already sub-divided and deed restricted. And that means, HOAs.

Trust me, I'd love to get out, but the list of available houses or empty lots in this area is minimal. very minimal. I'd have to go farther out and find an empty lot and build on it (taking that time and expense). When I found this place (almost 10 years ago), I just didn't have the time to look. I had to do something fast as I was getting kicked out of my temporary rental house.

Waa waa waa, go cry the blues somewhere else.
You've choosen to remain there 10 years simply because it's convenient.
"I'd love to get out but"...
Anything after "but" in the last paragraph is nothing but a bunch of lame ass excuses.
Anybody that will to give up freedom for convenience doesn't deserve to be free.

In HS we sometimes had a choice. This paddle or suspension. Sadly it disappeared when we got a new vice principal. The new vp was douche.

Yeah man looks like the paddle from my school. Principal was a young guy and took zero shit. School was old, no a/c, and the halls echoed like a canyon. When you got the call you had the walk of shame and everyone could tell you was getting your ass whipped because it echoed through the halls. Then it was directly back to class and all eyes on you walking in hurt ass holding back tears. Thinking back, that shit straightened me right up. But even back then they would notify parents that the kid was gonna get whooped. My folks were like go for it and give a couple extra for us lol...

If that's the case, then yeah.... they can "pound sand." Make my lawyer's day. And that person would be in a position to do it as most HOA's require their membership to submit to "Binding Arbitration." BLEEECCCCHH!

It's simpler than that.
Even if the guy is part of the HOA, tell them to fucking pound sand.
The boards are so used to people bending over for them, they freeze up when someone pushes back.
Especially when the HOA exceeds any authority they think they have.

Whether the letter is real or not, the HOA has absolutely ZERO authority to enforce anything written in that letter.

I live in an HOA and love/hate it…. Keeps the properties at a certain standard for appearance and maintenance, but yeah, always a Karen or Ken trying to find meaning in their miserable lives and just keep stirring shit into the pot. A lot like The Pit now that I think about it! 😆

We do a pretty good job keeping those jackasses off the board here in my neighborhood though, and honestly, most folks just mind their own business and simply try to be good neighbors.

Regardless, like most things in life, there are pros and cons to either approach. We all just need to decide where we fall on that line and frankly, as long as it doesn’t interfere with my life, we should respect other people’s decisions if they chose a different path.

Just my $0.02

Fuckin' LOVE that followup anchor. One scumbag ain't gonna be doing more shit again, nor do we have to feed and care for in the penal system. The would-be victim just needs to remember that he DOES NOT remember what happened except 'his life flashed before his eyes', and don't be yappin' to the media or to anybody about it either. Excellent trash removal.
