So seeing how much fun discussion we are having in the other thread, I thought we could add to it.
Which brand of oil is always a hot bed of discussion

Personally I use Valvoline 20W50 Super Blue Diesel Oil after running it thru a Fram filter in my CUMMINS for 20k miles. Blackstone oil tests every 5k to verify oil quality.
I have found the higher zinc content along with the carbon build up from the used oil allows the rings to seat far superior to the rail. Sample size of two scope mountings.
A damp cue tip to coat the inside of the rings surface which contacts the rail. Then torque the fastener dipped in the same oil to manufacturers opinion.

Sweat, right after I bench 275.
For reps, ja?

All jokes aside, someone mentioned grease. I've always just put a little clp or whatever on the rail to make sure the clamps seat proper.

Also, fun fact, 275# is equivalent to roughly 1.8 Honda H5 automatic transmissions.
