Painted/Cerakoted rifle chassis

I wasn’t super impressed with theirs. I love my OG JAE. Something about it just feels much better. Still a good looking stick nonetheless.
Yeah I literally just bought it for looks and I don’t regret buying it, I just generally steer people away from them. It handles fine but it just lacks in so many areas that like, every other system excels in. That, and unfulfilled promises by MDT.

This is the MDT remake- it’s overpriced and not particularly good for anything. I strongly recommend against them.
Gotcha. Thanks for the honesty. I have noticed them retail for over $2k here in Australia (USD$1200-1300) and seemed like a heavier XRS for 4x the price. Good to know they don’t do anything special.

Im genuinely struggling to figure out what my JAE lacks that my Foundation/Manners etc excel at. I don’t have a G5 JAE, but I like my G4 (and my G1).
As an OG owner I’ll say compared to a foundation, you don’t have a wide forend, no ability to add internal weights or rear weights for balance. The Arca rail stops way short of the magwell, and it has that weird slope that is less efficient on bags. Also no protection or ability to add protection for the mag in the form of a bag stop.

Well, pretty much all of those cons have been addressed in the gen3 & 4.
Weight up front is easy to do. Weight in the back, not sure you need it.
Magwell bag stop in the pic is specifically for late gen3’s and all gen4

Im working on a comparison post between the gens.

The gen 4 addresses the mag block issue but now discontinued and the gen 5 has a useless little thing that I can’t even call a mag block. But the arca still doesn’t go all the way to the rear and the weird slope is still there. They did address the weight issue though which was good on them. And you still don’t have a wide forend like a foundation which was asked about as a direct comparison.

When MDT re-released it you were looking at ~$2300 for something that couldn’t take internal or rear weights, no thumb rest, no m-lok, and about 50 black oxide screws that rust the first time you shoot a match in the rain. My ACC is objectively better in every metric IMO. Plus the upcharges for the bag rider and LOP shims were insultingly high.

They also promised to sell the side panels a la cart and never did. That alone was like, 80% of the reason I bought the thing and they pulled the ‘ol bait and switch.

Again, not to split hairs, but apart from the Samson, do any of the Foundations have the ability to add rear weights? Forend width is pretty much identical to my Vision Pro and ACC Elite (aka a few mm wider than the arca rail).

Agreed on the less than ideal barricade atop setups.

Definitely not saying they’re the ideal PRS chassis, but sometimes I read these comments and wonder what the big issue is.

Well bear in mind that some of us wouldn’t consider foundation for PRS, so using it as a point of comparison isn’t appropriate in that case.

There’s nothing wrong with any of this stuff, just people like different things.
