So I was out last night having beer and some folks who are civil service or former civil service and who claim to be conservatives were bashing Trump's retire early offer. Another was like...do what I did...quit, take the money, come back on as a high paid contractor in the same position (this is wrong IMO and I HOPE they're closing that loophole). But I was astounded the comments of I voted for Trump, not Musk to "nobody understands what Trump's offer is to CS....
One of those remodeled his house during the week "after work" as well as one of his kids whilst they were not required to show up in the office at all. THIS is why Trump wants them to go in the office and/or take early retirement. I see the same shit from my neighbor who through a hissy they were made to go back in the office full time.
Which is what I always thought....these CS working around here are for the most part slackers and sucking off the front tit.
Funny thing is...I put in MORE time at work at home and they actually get some free time in the sense I can start things and go do other personal things off clock whilst I would just be waiting at the office charging time. But then there are people that are ethical and those that are not.

My job has a hybrid schedule where I work from home 2 days a week and in the office the other 3. We have a policy that you have to be able to be in a Zoom meeting within 15 minutes of being notified. It would be pretty hard to pull off the stuff these .gov employees have been doing.
This sounds exactly like my .gov job. Of course I also have to be ready to respond for emergencies on no more than 30 minutes too. Thankfully as an engineer/inspector said emergencies are few, but our AO is larger than some Eastern States
