    Aside from esthetics and weight, is there any different between the carbon and standard shell? Is the carbon noticeably stiffer if at all?

    Looking to pull the trigger on a manners build in the next 2 weeks and trying to sort out this option.

    If it matters it will be a t2a gap non mini chassis and no arca. Will be used for some prs style matches and general hunting/field gun.

    Call up Manners and ask when you order your stock. They are super friendly/helpful and will answer all of your questions.

    The biggest difference is weight. Carbon fiber is stiffer than fiberglass, but the difference in stiffness will have zero impact on rifle performance. Even a pure fiberglass stock (like a classic McMillan) is plenty stiff for the intended purpose. Plenty of records have been set with McMillan fiberglass stocks. Don't overthink it - if you want the stock as light as possible, get the Elite shell.

    I believe the standard shell from Manners is a combination of carbon fiber and fiberglass, so you are getting the benefits of carbon fiber regardless of which shell you choose.

    @surgeon260 kinda what I thought as well. Yes their standard is a mix of cf and fiberglass. Didn't see any mention other than weight for their elite shell and got me curious.

    I'll for sure ask them when I call to order. Just figured I'd ask her to make sure I hear views other thana potential sales pitch. I like scorched earth in their elite but don't care for how little pattern they put and being mostly cf. I know youcan ask for heavy pattern but the guys I've seen getthat say it's still hardly anything. Not willing to pay a $170 premium for a pattern in may not like if there is no structural benefit.
