9mm

Hornady 124gr XTP - Starline Brass - CCI #500's - 7.1 grains of AA#7 = 1125fps out of a G17 G5 and a Sig M18 @ 60° F

1/2" of barrel length difference between the two meant nothing.

I did have several of the batch make it into the high 1140's.

The previous session was fired in 75°'ish temps and the average velocity was a bit closer to 1150fps

I like this combo for all year, w/o worries of pressure spikes.

On a 100 degree day, with the sun beaming down on your holstered pistol, i am not too worried about pressure spikes.

Though i will try it in those conditions to be certain. (Next year)

What was your COAL for them?

The COAL is what is listed in the book. The XTP's are a little finicky with some seating stems. If your COAL is all over the place, swap the stem out for another design.

Glock 19, 124gr Xtreme plated
Mixed brass
Federal small pistol primers
4.8gr CFE Pistol
1008 fps avg, 14SD, 1.8" group at 25yd
Accuracy load, recoils similar to factory ammo

Here my very accurate and stupid quiet 9mm subsonic load

Glock 19, SIG 229, MP5, AR9

Xtreme 165gr
1.165" COAL
CCI SPP
3.8gr VV N340
914fps SD9 over 30 shots

Not bad but you should consider N330 if you can find some with those 165gr.
I do 3.3gr with the Bayou 160 @ 1.155" coal. Very soft.

So found a box of Rainier 147g hp 9mm. (600 ea)
having trouble deciding coal and no viable listings.

Basically a coal of 1.100 or 1.130 but lack of consensus bugs me.
These will be standard rounds not +p. probably 3.3 -3.4 W244 at 900 - 930 fps.

Any help would be appreciated.

Factory Federal American Eagle 147gr. Flat Point Subsonics through my MP5 @ 100 yards... It even start putting down some consistent hits at 200 yards once I found my POA with the irons. I'm very impressed with the consistency for pistol ammo.

Longshot doesn't seem like it would make a good 9mm powder. Super loud and flashy. What does that factory ammo perform like?
This is not factory ammo , this is remanufactured 9mm load maded for PCC with 100 grain berrys holow base bullets.
I opened one and try to recognize powder.

New video is up with the H&K MP5 shooting some steel gongs @ 200 yards with the Rugged Obsidian 45, and the new Holosun SCRS-MRS on top (100 yard zero).

The camera didn't pickup the impacts very good this time, so you really gotta listen for them after the shots.

Assorted brass and primers
VV N320: 3.6gr
147gr HST pulls and RMR 147gr FMJ flat points
1.10" OAL

Very soft shooting from my pistols and comfortably subsonic through my suppressed MP5K clone. Brass only goes 5-7 feet away from all the pistols.

Update: got proper-ish data

I'm very happy.

Platform: PTR 9kt, 5.2" barrel, Surefire Ryder suppressor. 30-shot data. Powder temperature was about 107⁰ here in AZ

147 HST:

935 AVG, 10 SD

147 FMJ flat points:

950 AVG, 14 SD.

Dillon 450 press, Lee dies, Lee case-actuated powder drop, bulk ammo.

AR 15 9mm over 2600 fps, 75 gr 1900 fps, 115 gr 1720 fps, 124gr 1600 fps.

Bullets from 50 gr to 185 gr tried.

Glock 26 with 7 1/2 shot load penetrates 1/2" plywood 6 feet ...

AR 15 9mm all 10 shots on target at 205 yds.
I run plus p in AR 15 with excellent results,
Sometimes 1" 3 shot groups at 100 yds.
And over 700 ft/lbs of energy. Bumps the performance up alot to 357 mag performance...9mm a deer cartridge in carbine form with handloads?

Just finished spinning up a 9mm AR barrel to fit a CZ 527. Made it to use some IMI sub gun ammo I bought decades ago when I didn't know better. No chrony data yet but Gordons estimates 1600 fps or so from a 16" tube. Now that the case is supported all round in a bolt gun I'll start reloading to increase the pressure/velocities and see where it goes.

After I figure out how to install a magazine and tweak a couple other minor hiccups, first things first.

Thank you,
MrSmith

147 at 1300 out of a glock? That is moving with a purpose.

The 9 mm will do 1600 fps in a 16" barrel with 124 gr HST, and 8.3 gr Alliant Blue Dot in a blow back AR 15, with a plus p load...not for pistols. So a locked breach rifle should be OK, just work up slowly.

I’ve been running hornady 124gr FMJ with 5.6gr of True Blue but have finally run out and am switching to 124gr Zero bullets. The OAL will need to drop from 1.150 to 1.10 since there is a CZ in the mix and the profile is slightly different. How much drop is needed in powder charge with 0.05 OAL? I’ve looked but found nothing so barring any advise I’ll probably just drop to 4.6gr and see what happens. I do have multiple loading manuals and a chrono. Thanks for any insight

Found a good reference for a starting point. Sorry to waste everyone’s time. I’ll post pictures if I blow something up.

I like a 124gr GoldDot over 6.5gr of Ramshot TrueBlue with a cci primer.

A very accurate load too. These were out of a cz p-01, theyre a little hotter out of my g17.
Another nice load is 6.8gr of hs-6, same bullet and primer. Not as good with the sd and es but acceptable.

These are my standard and +p loads respectively trying to mimic Speers own stated velocities. I very rarely realize the factory velocities with factory ammo with any of them except for Underwood.
My bullets are pulled bullets so my cost to load 500 of these is a fraction of what 500 would cost retail so not a bad deal at all.
I dont take them to the range and just blast 500 gold dots but I do like to use them to be used to their performance. No knock on Speer but my handloads perform better. Most of them are loaded in 1x Speer Ni brass too.
