Savage Mark II - Any chassis options??

First off, how stiff is the MDT field stock?

I'd rather have aluminum if there's any options out there......what's the purpose you ask?

I want to mount my my Luna Elir3 and SiCo Radius to us it at night......just looking for an off the shelf option if one exists.

If anyone has already been down this path with a custom option I'm open to ideas/pics as well

I like my savage MKII but to put it in a $600 + dollar chassis is insanity you can put that money you spent on a MKII and the chassis on a real bench gun.I shoot the shit out of my Savages but they are what they are off the shelf mid range fun guns.

I completely agree .....my mind then went...what about a badger efr....which then lead me to some $10-15 magpul 1913 rail sections screwed into the wood........and use shims in between the rail section amd wood stock if needed.

A nice simple $100 aluminum chassis that uses AR rear end parts I have laying around would be ideal

No Mate, my wife owns it!
I had that rifle built for her in 2010 and it has morphed into what you see here- Round count north of 10k and faultless.
Yes, I spent a bomb to get it to that stage - Action threaded, match chambered Maddco barrel, trigger replaced etc.
We own our fair share of "high end" rim fires, including several of the 700 foot prints which seem to be popular on this site - This rifle can compete with any of them.
I tried to build another Mark II to the same standard as this one for myself but it didn't work out as I'd hoped!
