Did open source Chicom developed AI by no name company on 5.5mio $ learning budget just Nuke Open AI , not just that its preforming as good or better than Open Ai , its can run of your own devices.

''U.S. export controls on advanced semiconductors were intended to slow China's AI progress, but they may have inadvertently spurred innovation. Unable to rely solely on the latest hardware, companies like Hangzhou-based DeepSeek have been forced to find creative solutions to do more with less.
    ...
This month, DeepSeek released its R1 model, using advanced techniques such as pure reinforcement learning to create a model that's not only among the most formidable in the world, but is fully open source, making it available for anyone in the world to examine, modify, and build upon.
    ...
DeepSeek-R1’s performance is comparable to OpenAI's top reasoning models across a range of tasks, including mathematics, coding, and complex reasoning. For example, on the AIME 2024 mathematics benchmark, DeepSeek-R1 scored 79.8% compared to OpenAI-o1’s 79.2%. On the MATH-500 benchmark, DeepSeek-R1 achieved 97.3% versus o1’s 96.4%. In coding tasks, DeepSeek-R1 reached the 96.3rd percentile on Codeforces, while o1 reached the 96.6th percentile – although it’s important to note that benchmark results can be imperfect and should not be overinterpreted.

But what’s most remarkable is that DeepSeek was able to achieve this largely through innovation rather than relying on the latest computer chips.''

This was covered on 4Chan last night - they are running this off of a raspberry pi and not even connected to the net. If this can be verified it is yet another indicator that Trump may be spotlighting some people and scams.

Ever since ChatGPT went on line there were serious doubts it the way AI was being 'sold' as there was nothing even remotely indicating ''I'' is anywhere close , but AI is kinda new hotness like blockchain was years ago.

''Currently there is some hype about a family of large language models like ChatGPT. The program reads natural language input and processes it into some related natural language content output. That is not new. The first Artificial Linguistic Internet Computer Entity (Alice) was developed by Joseph Weizenbaum at MIT in the early 1960s. I had funny chats with ELIZA in the 1980s on a mainframe terminal. ChatGPT is a bit niftier and its iterative results, i.e. the 'conversations' it creates, may well astonish some people. But the hype around it is unwarranted.
Currently the factual correctness of the output of the best large language models is an estimated 80%. They process symbols and pattern but have no understanding of what those symbols or pattern represent. They can not solve mathematical and logical problems, not even very basic ones.
There are niche applications, like translating written languages, where AI or pattern recognition has amazing results. But one still can not trust them to get every word right. The models can be assistants but one will always have to double check their results.

Overall the correctness of current AI models is still way too low to allow them to decide any real world situation. More data or more computing power will not change that. If one wants to overcome their limitations one will need to find some fundamentally new ideas.''

The Nvidia duche can stop the holding presentations in his leather jacket (someone should have told him it does not make him look cool ) .

The Raspberry pi is the bottom end , but they say a high end home PC could run it well , in any case they shared it as open source so Open AI face planted just as they were about to scam multiple Guberments of billions of dollars.Just in the nick of time as Sam Altman is looking quite POS ,get you all vaxed or interned kinda guy ,eager to take your liberties away. Will be interesting to watch how his fund raising goes now .

''ChatGPT-maker OpenAI is working on a plan to restructure its core business into a for-profit benefit corporation that will no longer be controlled by its non-profit board, people familiar with the matter told Reuters, in a move that will make the company more attractive to investors.
Chief executive Sam Altman will also receive equity for the first time in the for-profit company, which could be worth $150 billion after the restructuring as it also tries to remove the cap on returns for investors, sources added.''

And it seems floodgates are opening ,with new Bytedance(TikTok) offer one upping even DeepSeek

Well this sucks balls. I've been pretty heavily invested in tech, and have way too much overlap in my portfolio. I was just saying last night that I need to talk to someone to diversify my portfolio better, and then this. Don't even want to look to see how much money i've lost today.

My Apple and Meta Stonks are fine. Deep seek is using a stockpile of Nvidia chips. I see Nvidia being fine in the long run.

AI isn’t AI. It’s just super Siri. It is useful at times.

Here is an article from big black cock that discusses the chip stockpile: https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c0qw7z2v1pgo.amp

Anyone who signs up for china shit is a retard.

Certainly a disrupter. Wasn't paying attention to this last week, cost me a couple bucks.

Yeah "AI" is the new hotness, it will still be hot for a while until people start looking behind the curtain. One day it may start to do what marketing claims it can do but not right now. Maybe Deepseek will change that?

I'm thinking not everybody will pull out of "traditional" "AI" backed by GPUs. People have a lot invested in GPUs and won't be able to switch immediately. Needs more scrutiny for if/when things like Nvidia types bounce back to avoid the dead cat bounce.

ETA: It appears Deepseek is primarily traditional GPU based, AMD not Nvidia, and not Raspberry Pi or space alien tech.

AMD but I agree Nvidia will likely recover.

AMD is excited to announce the integration of the new DeepSeek-V3 model from DeepSeek on AMD Instinct™ GPUs, optimized for performance powered by SGLang (https://github.com/sgl-project/sglang/releases). This integration will help accelerate the development of cutting-edge AI applications and experiences. DeepSeek-V3 is an open-source, multimodal AI model designed to empower developers with unparalleled performance and efficiency. By seamlessly integrating advanced capabilities for processing both text and visual data, DeepSeek-V3 sets a new benchmark for productivity, driving innovation and enabling developers to create cutting-edge AI applications.

Not really relevant if stockpile needed was magnitudes less than any competition ,50k H100 claim was thrown around by some chinese American AI kid at Davos , that just got his ass handed to him with nothing to back it up,

Buying the dip? Ultimately NVIDIA is not going anywhere , demand for their chips will remain strong.

But hits keep on comming . New drop ,DeepSeek Janus-Pro-7B is multimodal, can generate images and beats OpenAI's DALL-E 3 and Stable Diffusion across GenEval and DPG-Bench benchmarks.

What if (and hear me out) China just ripped off American AI and then is purposely underselling to disrupt the market. All these models are available for download and you can "distill" the results to a smaller more effcient model (that has been known for quite some time) with very little loss in performance.

Most AI runs on a smarthphone (or can), its the TRAINING that needs the GPUs. Deployment? pffft. Any chip will do.

Jack Carr’s book number 7 in the Terminal List series, Red Sky Mourning, is very interesting for those interested in a topic such as this one.

The chatbot was turned off for errors and lack of political correctness. Users shared screenshots of interactions with the AI, calling "Lucy's" answers absurd. The assistant does not solve simple math problems, claims that cow's eggs exist, denies women's rights and shares a detailed recipe for methamphetamine. :ROFLMAO:

Glenn Becks segment today on AI is definitely worth listening to! When asked about which leaders kill the greatest number of civilians, Deep Seek would make statements about Genghis Khan and Mao but then quick delete coments an infer the human inquisitor provided those that information.

Thats actually exciting as it may break nvidias monopoly on GPUs for AI. ANd right now nVidia is sucking every blood penny they can for those damn things.

(Sorry "Hype in AI" is like my daily bread and butter, until it sets the journals afflutter it is just hype. Double points if it hits the news. They always fuck up the story).

I'm a racist ass, so I still think china stole it. (Its kinda their MO)

Depends on a few variables, I don't think Nvidia is dead yet. Like you mentioned earlier there's a difference between training and deploying commercial algorithms and there are several applications that will still depend on max GPU throughput.
Indeed NVIDIA is still firmly in the lead and can make huge profit margins (90+%) till some competition appears ,stock market valuations altough massively overblown can easily persist ,just look at Tesla ,practicaly non player in terms of automotive sales valued more than top 10 combined and it does not look like air is poping out of that hot air bubble any time soon also thanks to both US and EU massive tariffs on Tesla's competitors .
In the end market for high end chips is booming, you can bet if they were not export controlled, China would be buying as many of them as US ,they are probably buying shit load through third countries anyways,

I looks like DeepSeek previous models already forced massive cuts in Chinese AI , it might be that Open AI was just comfortably massive overcharging for its pole position.

ByteDance (TikTok’s parent company) released an update to its flagship AI model, claiming it outperformed OpenAI’s o1 in AIME benchmark tests.
Alibaba and Tencent made aggressive price cuts to stay competitive, mirroring DeepSeek-V2’s low-cost strategy from last year.
Baidu, China’s first company to introduce a ChatGPT-like AI, continues to refine its models to keep up with the competition.
DeepSeek’s V2 model, launched in May 2023, already disrupted the market by offering AI processing at just 1 yuan ($0.14) per 1 million tokens – an unprecedented price point that forced companies like Alibaba to cut AI costs by up to 97%.

Biases are inherent to all models, but DeepSeek, being open source, folks can mod it to their bias. This is practically irrelevant knee-jerk defense over competitors' progress.

Try GPT4 with some Israel related queries its like GPT4 was taped with some underage pussy on Epstein Island.

Oh they definitly aren't dead. I think they (nVidia) need some serious pressure in the AI world from AMD. Competition benefits us all. Just like a healthy AMD is good competition for Intel (Funny story, back in the day, AMD had a way better design than Intel, but Intel's mfg was so top notch, they just ran those bitches at super high speed, fired the design team and hired a new one--wasn't fun to be a dev engineer on the mfg process, but damn we were good. (still owned AMD chips!)). Google/OpenAI/Microsoft/Facebook all beating the shit outta each other benefits us. Words I never thought I'd say: "Thank God for Facebook" as they essentially killed Tensorflow (Used to be "THE" AI Language) from Google which was the most ass backwards compatibility breaking piece of crap I've encountered in a LONG time.

    /rant off.

(nVidia) need some serious pressure in the AI world from AMD.

Deepseek built their brand on Nvidia but they recently partnered with AMD and they modified their software to work on Huawei Ascend chips.

Deepseek is starting to find itself banned in some places, tariffs on Chinese chips is going to muddy the waters. If Deepseek gets banned here then we will have taken 2 steps forward and 2 steps back more or less.

Yup. All my tech stocks are back to where they were before OMG DEEPSEEK moment.

Next up is l trying to get in on nuclear power stonks. All these data centers they're building EVERYWHERE need more power than what's currently available. My buddy does QA/QC at a bunch of the projects all over the country. Every location has Mega Watts of diesel generators on site for when the grid can't handle their power demands. The only source than can power this shit in perpetuity is nuclear. Trumpster's EPA gonna clear the way for less gay nuke regulations and it's gonna be awesome. $$$

Gonna cause oil stocks to drop because drill baby drill, buy it then sell it when the next commie gets in causes oil prices to skyrocket, because oil bad.
