Sighted this rifle yesterday. 50 yards 5 shots at 1/2” dot. It took a bit of tapping to get it centered of course. May not be perfect yet, had a bit of gusty wind. It’s close enough for 50 yard headshots on squirrels.
We have a snow storm moving in so first outing will be a rabbit hunt later this week.
    Ammo is Winchester Super Match.

    Hammer !
A super accurate squirrel rifle is held in high regard in my family- dad has a very old single shot heavy barreled .22lr with an equally old bushnell scope chief on it . Seen him win bets at deer camp more than one head shooting chipmunks and or grouse at 35-75 yards - brother has a I believe Marlin made .22 bolt action with Canadian tire trade name on it - Ottawa warrior or some such . Gold bead front sight seen him more than once eyeball a woodchuck at 50 yards . It had an express type rear sight - 25-50-100 . Never really seen another quite like it .
Mine is much less exciting just a 10/22 with stock inleted - front barrel band removed and a BX trigger . I’ve posted some shots I’ve made with it in the small varmints thread .
Sorry for the high Jack - very nice rifle and I understand completely why you are proud of it !

You’ve got some of the nicest squirrel rifles I’ve seen!

I hunt pretty much everything with a season in Indiana but August 15th is the day I look forward to every year. Squirrel are my favorite.

Hunt with a rifle till I miss then it goes back to the safe and I grab another. Would love to have some like you carry!

Thank you. I really enjoy squirrel hunting. Our season runs from June to February so plenty of opportunities. I normally shoot from 100-500 per year if licensed in two states. My state has a 5/day limit but across line it’s 10/day. Due to proximity I sometimes hunt both states in a single day.

The 61, 62 and 63 winchesters are some of the nicest 22lr ever manufactured.
As a boy I had to settle for a Win Model 77 clip fed because of the price differential.
Your 63 looks like a Winchester 'Custom' Grade because of the figure and checkering.
    Beautiful wood and rifle!!!

It’s not drilled so will keep it iron sighted.
It is groved for a modern scope if I need it.
Leupold does make a scope specifically for the 22 lr with 60yd Parallax and a reticle with hold over dots for various ranges.
I put one on my Japanese Winchester 52 Sporter with Talley one piece mounts.
BTW I have looked a number of original Win 52 sporters over the years and never would pay the price.
This Japanese Winchester 52 is as good visually as any original 52.

BTW Leupold does make a 3x9 EFR with adjustable Parallax that I have on an Anschuetz 22 Hornet Mannlicher stock.
