Hey 6Dasher shooters

I’m looking at jumping into the 6mm world and thinking 6Dasher could be my next calibre.

Asking the 6 dasher cohort if they have good experience feeding 6Dasher from .308 AICS pattern mags or whether it’s best to go with 6Dasher specific magazine? I’m involved with PRS style comps so a magazine reliability is important.

Thanks in advance

Thanks everyone. Grateful for the insight.

I’ve accumulated a few .308 mags from shooting 260Rem a few years and now moving to 6mmDasher was hoping for reuse on mags.

I have a terminus Zeus qc with a bartline barrel in an acc chassis. When I first got it setup the mags were the last thing I was waiting on so I used my regular plastic and metal mdt 308 mags and they worked perfectly. I never shot a match with them though. I use the ones with the spacer for dasher in matches.

Yes, you can re-use those mags. All you need is a spacer kit like the ones from Primal Rights. Generally speaking a 308 mag with a spacer kit will be very reliable feeding Dasher, they have been trouble free for me across multiple different mags and multiple different actions.

Only downside to a 308 mag is that sometimes they are a bit tall and can get in the way on certain PRS props. If you want a shorter magazine look at the GreyOps A-Dub magazine specifically for Dasher/BR. They are a bit spendy but are phenomenal if your action is cut for AW mags.

Interesting. I will have a play. I Currently use a tikka action in an MDT XRS I currently run Accurate mag magazines for the 308/260. if they work with dasher, I’m laughing.

Thanks for the insight

I’ll have a look for them. If it's non-starter using the 308 mags I’ll be giving this consideration pending cost.

Fair point I’ll look into the details. I understand they are meant to be a great performance calibre The attraction of the Dasher is its uses a bit less powder and gives very good barrel life and factory brass options exist.

Factory brass and ammo is available for the 6GT including Lapua brass. A few grns of powder is nothing. 6GT also gets good barrel life. If you don’t like it just buy new mags and go Dasher.

I have a 6 Dasher built by Isaac at SIP before he passed. It is on an Impact 737r action with a bartlien barrel in a XLR envy chassis. It runs flawlessly on a standard AICS 308 mag. I run the same mags across my 308 (Sav M.10 action) 260 (Rem 700 Action) and my Dasher. No issues at all on any of them.
Isaac built my 6 Dasher that uses PMAG 7.62AC on a 700SA.
