The problem with these police corruption cases is that the legitimate cases under investigation or closed cases with imprisonment, as a result, can now be challenged due to the investigation into the tainted evidence/said offers lack of integrity.
We have a saying. It's better that a hundred guilty go free than for one innocent to be convicted.

Reality is that criminals don't change their spots and they aren't smart. They will do something else and then justice will prevail.

The DA and the grand jury recommended the department be disbanded.
There have been at least 28 people who’ve taken things out of evidence room
The fucking dispatcher over dosed and died while on duty .
maybe the most troubling thing about these cases is how many still react - “well it’s a small rural department in the south so of course there is some corruption and incompetence “
Then 11 of NY’s finest get inducted on murder - “well of course in the big city there will be some corrupt ones - always has been”
And then a huge scandals out of AZ - huge numbers of Brady lost hires , massive brutality and civil rights violations a huge for profit DUI scheme where every so many stops had to be a DUI so sober people get arrested because there is free pizza if ya make your numbers. And some boomer will say shit like - “well it’s a hard job no one wants “ many don’t seem to understand just how deep the rot goes .

Operation Silver Shovel was a major undercover investigation by the FBI in the 1990s, focusing on corruption and illegal activities involving public officials, politicians, and businesspeople in Chicago. The operation primarily targeted bribery and illegal dumping in the city's public works projects.

Undercover agents posed as corrupt businessmen, offering bribes to politicians and city officials in exchange for lucrative city contracts and favorable decisions. The investigation led to the indictment of several individuals, including aldermen, contractors, and other figures in Chicago's political landscape.

The operation resulted in the conviction of multiple individuals, including Alderman Percy "Tony" Pugh, and exposed deep corruption within the city’s political system. It was one of the largest corruption investigations in Chicago at the time."

And this one....

"
In the early 1990s, the FBI took over the Cicero Police Department due to widespread corruption and ties to organized crime, particularly the Chicago Outfit, a powerful mafia group. The Cicero Police Department, located just outside Chicago, was found to be heavily involved in criminal activities, including extortion, bribery, and protection rackets.

The corruption came to light as part of a larger investigation into organized crime and law enforcement misconduct. Officers were found to be working with the mob to protect illegal gambling operations, drug trafficking, and other illicit activities. The department’s leadership, including the police chief, was complicit in these illegal acts.

In response, the FBI launched an extensive investigation, which led to a series of arrests, including members of the Cicero Police Department. As a result, the FBI took control of the department to restore order and prevent further criminal activity from being facilitated by law enforcement. The takeover was part of broader efforts to clean up corrupt local police departments in the Chicago area during that time."

The only thing that's changed is they no longer investigate corruption.

only entire departments being mob run - or like the 2 times every Cleveland cop was running drugs - once I. The 80s once in the 90s - amazing how the “good ones “ never seem to be able to stop the few bad ones
