In the real world though, she is farther to the right than many Republicans.
She won her seat in 2006 campaigning on fiscal responsibility and deporting "illegal immigrants" (which she is not afraid to say).
Donald Trump, who will become our 47th President on Monday, was a Democrat Liberal sleaze-king in 2006 (and still is today).
Bob Dole, another American Hero, remarked upon meeting Duckworth at Walter Reed, that if he knew she was interested in politics he could have easily made her a Republican.
