Either way, I have no reason to not go with SJ.

Besides the fact that this thread is riddled with examples of missed timelines, seemingly misrepresentations of what they have on hand, indications they take $ for actions and dont place the order with the action manufacturer right away, and the fact that there is quality smiths out there that could turn around the same thing in less than 2 months, yeah, they seem like a great choice!

As I have previously mentioned, I am not in a rush for the new barreled action. They have the exact reamer on hand that I want + I get some additional benefits for free. Find me a smith who can get me a Zeus barreled action where the chambered premium barrel is less than $600 and I'll consider it.

Meh il pay a little more for timely service, top performance. And most of all, ethics and no lies/bs/fees

Yeah, I'm with you. Give me BMP instead every day of the week and twice on Sunday. My fluted barrel has been shipped and I ordered it a month ago! That's with them sending it out to the be fluted, then chambering when it gets back to them.... Think I will stick with Eric

I think my non fluted barrel was $750 total... and got it less than 2 weeks after ordering.

Who are you guys using?

just got my rimx barrel in from Nick...so far, it's the smoothest barrel to go into the action out of 3 barrels tested from 3 different makers. Just need to shoot the damn thing now.

I see they’re “offering” deposits on rifles. Don’t ask me what that means. I asked if them meant accepting deposits and they asked if I was someone else.

Top marks for Nick and crew at SJA. They were happy to discuss my chamber options, and they are one of the few if only shops to cut for the new ARC CDG. The machining and fit is like buttah. There were a few wrinkles-- which is to be expected given the new and evolving cdg action-- but they straightened it out; very easy on my end. Pretty sure you could order a CDG prefit with no probs whatsoever now.

I've dealt w less than stellar shops before, some with big reps, but SJA really does quality work and customer service.
See 'show 'em' sticky for photos.

Decided to start start using SJA over the summer, now have 4 barrels from them. They all shoot. Sent them a Bartlein blank and they spun up a Lone Peak prefit for me, shot my first clean 200 this weekend in 600 yard FPR and finished with a 595. Until I have a bad experience I’ll continue to use them. Nick or Cole ever everytime I call and have been nothing short of great to work with.

Ok, I need some advice. I'm looking for a reasonably priced long range rifle. In a facebook group 6.5 PRC, somebody recommended Straight Jacket Armory. They have a rifle specs below for $2,175. I can't find much on the internet about them. Do they make a good rifle? And is what they are offering worth the price?

Specs:
Big Horn Origin Action
Stainless match barrel (24" Heavy Paulma ) Cerakote Black
Timney trigger
Oryx Chassis

Thanks in advance!

It’s little over price range, I’ll get it from MPA w/matrix pro chassis $3450. 3rd shoot hit at mile!

How have these guys been with lead times for everyone? 12 weeks into my 6 week estimate with no real timeline on when I may get a barrel has me second guessing the purchase

Edit, got a call from Paul at SJA which I do believe was coincidental and not because of this post. He explained the issue with the lead time and is getting it taken care of. Excellent communication and closure to this

Most of it but yes looking for recent input. Didn’t want to make a whole separate thread when they’re is already one in the archives
Hey buddy I'm sorry to hear that you've been waiting so long. If you'd like to call in at 435-462-1607 I'd love to talk with you about it. We have had some problems with certain barrels getting to us when they were suppose to. I won't ever blast another company on a forum so if you'd like to call me we can go over your order. I don't want you to feel like were not working to get all of our orders sent at a decent time. We have had to re visit some of our lead times due to manufacturers on barrels and actions. Once again sorry for the problem your having. We are open from 8:30am to 5pm Monday thru Thursday and till 3pm on Fridays, Mountain Standard Time.
