Recently I broke the bolt on my Sako M995 and as many have noticed they are not longer avaliable via Sako or a 3rd party. I have sent cad off to a Machine Shot to have one custom made because I dont want to through my rifle in the recycle bin due to the money I have invested into it. Is there anyone in the same boat as I am? Potentally making some for people that are in the same boat as I am. Just curious if I am the only one that is in this boat.

thanks

Exactly what I was thinking. What're you expecting your cost to be for a bolt ready to go? What size did you have them make? I'm looking for the smaller bolt face that came in the .270 Winchester rifles.

Ok. I will get it made in 4140 and if all goes good. I will get info or buy 5 and do it that way. Buying 1 at a time is a little expensive. Price goes down quite a bit when you get a few at a time. Im a bit of a perfectionist so im not sure ill be 100% happy with the first one or two. It took 3 in aluminun before i got one that i was ready to attempt with steel. But im still working on it i promise.

Great! Would you be able to do different bolt face diameter in that run of 5 or would they all need to be the same? Either way I'm in.

I think they would need to be the same that being said i have cnc equipment so i could order them as like a .223 bolt face and cnc them out to whatever is needed. Wish i could justify a multi-axis lathe but i cant, at least cant yet

As far as price it really depends on how many i order. I would have to check but i would guess that an naked bolt body would be in the $450 dollar range. If i buy a Sako parts kit, they are like $300. Again these are rough numbers. I havent really looked into it at this point.
