Rifle Scopes S&B PMII vs. ZCO 527 vs. Kahles 540i

I'm feeling lately that we've hit a point on these optics that everyone is just splitting hairs.
It's actually been this way for a while, for the top alpha glass, the IQ is pretty outstanding for all of them, it is the nuanced details that will keep you up at night. Do you want pure IQ - Tangent Theta, do you want greater DOF then ZCO, do you want wider FOV then Kahles, do you want a good blend of all then Schmidt and so forth. No longer can we say - "if you want the best scope then get brand X..." If you stick around this forum for a bit you will see guys go from brand X to brand Y to brand Z and so forth, this is because they are looking for that nuance - what will be the "edge" that will help them win competitions, help them shoot that trophy animal right before the last hours of hunting light, help them see that shot up steel target that blends with the background in the shadows and so forth. The bigger question is what is the nuance you are looking for, that is what is going to help you make your decision.

Just buy whatever you like. Then you will sell it to buy the next one. Then you will sell that to buy the next one. Then after you have owned them all you can decide what one you like. I know for me I always came back to ZCO. Sold the tangents, minox, NF vortex, ect.

Without time behind them and figuring out what you like and want no one can really tell you.

I like Kahles and Zeiss - and have a couple, but Schmidt has been my go-to forever. With all the hype lately on ZCO, I was curious for a new drag race. I had a conversation with Mike R. on this yesterday and I think it will remain that way. I don't have issues splurging, but $5k just to have an ZCO if it isn't significantly better that my tried and trues is a tough one.

Unless you don’t feel like replacing most of your scopes, don’t buy one of the latest ZCO, Tangent or possibly the latest K540i (TBD) 🙂

IME speaking to many that claim or ask if it’s just hype don’t have any or much experience with the particular scopes. (Not speaking about Mike R directly)

Again, I left my number above and as many here can verify. I provide information and let the person decide on what works for them.
