Worth getting 6.5 PRC if you have a CM?

I don’t understand how everybody is getting these super low numbers, unless they’re just pussyfooting their powder charges. Both of my 6.5 Creeds shoot best at 45.0gr of StaBall 6.5 with the 140’s. I know that’s way up there in the charge spectrum, but that’s where these 2 rifles shoot best. 🤷🏼
My 26" Howa shooting Hornady 140gr BTHP with 42gr of H4350 is getting 2710. Next outing, I'll be loading up some 140gr Berger VLD hunters and walking it up watching for pressure. They'll be seated further out. We'll see what they do.

My brass simply doesn't have the capacity. Running H4350 in Lapua brass I start compressing at 40.8 grains with Berger 140's

I never could get the velocity (or capacity fill) with H4350 with my 7 SAW and only got good velocities with Staball 6.5. I did get great ES/SD numbers with H4350, but my ES/SD numbers with Staball 6.5 were not that far off, plus the extra 100+ FPS.

Exactly…
but it varies and when answering questions, you have to have an open mind. It matters what the OP is currently getting out of his 6.5cm, what he wants to do with it, and what he wants to get out of it.

For me, it made a lot of sense to move into a 6.5 prc. I already have a 300wm, so i didn’t need another heavy hitting 30cal

If I had your exact setup, getting your exact results, yea it’s probably not worth the $.

One can load 6.5 CM to 3100 fps with 140 gr bullets in 24" barrel, if ya care to form 6.8X51 hybrid cases for your 6.5CM, as another option for reloaders.
It's like using 38 special ammo and 357 mag ammo in the same gun.
