Nice, I have gone down the rabbit hole of trying to get a RRS r-loc clamp on a WB-5 or LP-50. I never really found a solution I liked, as you said you can get away with it on the WB-x if you tilt the tilt the clamp to make enough clearance for the lever. Accutac gets away with it because their Arca clamps go from full open to tight in only a 90 degree throw.
The other option is Area 419 sells a 17s extension plate, but it does not fit the RRS r-loc clamp without modifying the plate. It basically just extends the clamp about 1.5" rearward allowing more room for the clamp lever.

That said, for heavy recoil I'm still a fan of Pic rails, they simply do not slip.
I want to like the r-loc, it's nice to just quickly slide the bipod onto he rail till the pins drops into a rail hole throw the lever and call it good. Especially if you put a slight ramp onto the front of your arca rail so it automatically depresses the lock pin for you. I probably just need more time behind it to build more confidence in it.
The thing I was a bit surprised about with the r-loc was is how weak the spring pressure there is on the "lock pin" and at least on my clamp it had a radius at the edges of the pin. Probably to help ensure it slides easily into a rail hole, but a few times I've felt like it didn't seem like the lock pin dropped fully in a rail hole, esp. if there was any dirt involved etc. It would be nice if the pin had more spring tension on it. Also at least on mine, when I tried flipping the lever 180 deg, the thumb latch no longer seemed to work as smoothly and it would not lock the clamp lever, reversed it back to normal and it would work fine. Could just be a tolerance stacking issue, I didn't really care for the thumb latch so no big deal there.
