He’s a weird dude. He’s wicked smart, but not like a scientist which is what most people think. He is a master manager of people, and has an eye for talent (a lot like Trump). He’s the man of the hour because a couple of billion makes all your fucks flee. He isn’t buying or trying to control shit, like the list of Bond villains above. He has a history of buying companies, doing a complete audit, and making them fire on all cylinders. He’s a business mechanic (again a lot like Trump). In fact they are so alike (not in personality, but in disposition and thinking), I’m sort of shocked they’re such good friends and not bitter enemies. Truth be told I’ve been expecting a falling out that hasn’t happened, and may not happen. Maybe that they are so different personally will save that relationship/partnership.

His lack of fucks and speaking the truth no matter the cost makes him seem like a fictional knight (not a real one, they were paid thugs). It is very easy to admire him, and sympathize with all his philandering. Think of the women that would throw themselves at you if you were the richest man in the world (none marriage material), no one could resist a pussy storm like that.

Private contractors with good oversight to avoid corruption contracts , can do everything we pay .gov “workers” to do but at 5-10% of the cost

I was seeing something on the Newsmax crawl about Musk wanting to target Social Security and the need for cuts there. As long as he's talking "Waste and Fraud," then I'm good with that. But if he's talking about "reducing benefits" generally to legitimate beneficiaries, then we have some issues. As has been said by many a politician... "Social Security is the 'third rail' of politics.... Touch it and you die!"

With the amount of FICA taxes I paid throughout my career, I will not stop until I get every penny of it back with interest!

All that money Space X gets from the gov, is at least justifiable. No other company can do what they do at the cost they do it at. Just wait until Starship becomes fully operational. It's going to reduce the cost by another 10x.

Likely more than 10-15%, Nasa’s budget in the same time frame was 24 Billion.

I’d like to see a side by side comparison of what was achieved by each put on a scale and compared.

Did Space X deliver anything for $3.7 billion dollars? How much did Boeing get for that one trip shitbox rocket that left two people in space? $4.2 billion dollars actually. And you are not bitching, why?

Bald faced lies. He has ZERO power to cut a single dollar or appropriate ANY money at all in any corner of government. This is total bullshit.

DOGE is an electronic, forensic auditing service, or as he says, "Tech support". But really, he is just doing a deep dive on the books and records they actually keep, because the most gob smacking finding thus far is the Trillions (Trillions) of government checks that the Treasury Department has written that we have no idea where they went, because the bureaucrats responsible failed to record even the most basic information about to whom and for what our money was being paid. The accounting is THAT poor, like they don't fucking care at all.

When you consider how corrupt and incompetent the Federal Bureaucracy has become, and the sheer contempt they have for the tax payers, if you don't think the whole thing needs to be burned to the ground you aren't paying attention.

And? Lots of companies have government contracts/subsidies, Boeing took in like 9bil as part of a maintenance contract and another 2bil as part of a maintenance contract (F15 and AH60 I think), USAID spent 40bil on who knows what, it's a not big deal tbh and the Space Race is actually interesting. It's wondrous and hopeful vs random MIC company getting 8 billion to paint naval radar arrays a new shade of gray.

If you mean Social Security it's not going anywhere because old people have crazy voter turnout. They'll find the money to keep it going.

Whatever money Elon is culling from government programs so far hasn't amounted to a lot, they need to find a few hundred billion before "refund checks" would make sense.
