Defending Elon

I didnt read all the items on the list ,only the 1st 15 or so, but all of those were for some woke ass program the makes my blood boil , no wonder we're 36 trillion in debt.roll on Elon roll on.
We need the names of those people who are leaching off the American tax payers. 100% that a lot of Congress critters are getting kickbacks on these programs... or at least someone in their family is.

And? Lots of companies have government contracts/subsidies, Boeing took in like 9bil as part of a maintenance contract and another 2bil as part of a maintenance contract (F15 and AH60 I think), USAID spent 40bil on who knows what, it's a not big deal tbh and the Space Race is actually interesting. It's wondrous and hopeful vs random MIC company getting 8 billion to paint naval radar arrays a new shade of gray.

105 billion so far in 2 months time isn't bad work. They are aiming to save a trillion in the first year.
From the US Debt Clock just now

If you mean Social Security it's not going anywhere because old people have crazy voter turnout. They'll find the money to keep it going.

Whatever money Elon is culling from government programs so far hasn't amounted to a lot, they need to find a few hundred billion before "refund checks" would make sense.
Thats both true and false because
A) Our debt is HUGE. Like incomprehensibly huge. SO technically yeah he hasn't found "much" (Compared to the debt)
B) I read the other day that DOGE cuts already amount to over $500 per person (That's US people--so like 334 million x 500). SO yeah there's also that....

Not advocating refund checks, just saying our debt is so bad that they found $500 per person in waste and barely made a dent......

Also don't forget Government accounting tricks:
a 4% raise is actually a 1% cut. They have built in increases to the budget so if you don't raise the budget the required amount its a cut.....Man I wish I could budget like that.

(For those not understanding, if you make 100,000 and your boss gives you a 4% raise, you don't tell him "HEY YOU CUT MY PAY by 1%!!" but our govt does.)

Our debt isn't really debt either, it's treasury notes/bonds with a promised yield over time. And right now even with the massive debt the interest payments are about 15% of the total budget. That's why nobody in DC really seems to care about it.
