Crocodiles learning to fake drowning to lure in people???

So I’ve seen this mentioned before and it’s not so much that people are trying to help the crocodile, it’s that they see two hands up in the water flailing around and assume a person is drowning because what other animal has hands that stick up in the air.

That being said it’s probably bullshit and the fucker just got stuck upside down and couldn’t figure out how to flip over.

The brain size and evolution-speed of croc's probably gives an indication that this is complete bullshit.

They do not have the capacity to pretend to drown.

If it was an octopus or a member of the cat family..; Plausible.

But crocs have the intellectual capacity of my toe-fungus.

So there is that.

Are crocodiles getting smarter or humans getting so dumb as to be tricked by them?

Small brains but they have high neuron density so there is that.

Some species have been seen floating around with sticks on their heads to trick birds into becoming lunch often enough that it can’t be accidental.

But yeah they can’t understand the idea of lateral movement and will not move to where prey will be as opposed to the last place they seen it before submerging.

Even in breeding season male crocodiles will just sometimes randomly kill and eat females.

Snapping turtles will lay motionless on the bottom with only their tongue wiggling to lure small fish in range of their jaws, and bam, all there is is a powdery puff and some scales.

Small brains, small kill zone my son had to put a second 9mm in the sweet spot while riding around on it when it was chasing me to get attention off him. That boy is every bit of 200lb American Badass. A rodeo fore sure.

There's a short list of species i wouldn't care if they went extint, like tomorrow, and crocs and 'gators are on it.

Also at top of the list are Komoda dragons, disgusting evil creatures. Boa constrictors and pythons can also fuck off.

They have programming in that pea brain that has kept them on earth for a lot more than 65 million years…. Hard targets indeed!

I want to hunt gator sometime….

Oh and should have used a 10mm. Just ‘sayin!!

In Australia, you used to be able to hunt salt water crocs.

They're ambush predators and not that easy to encounter unless you're dumb enough to go swimming in those rivers or just minding your business along a shoreline; otherwise it takes some stalking and sneaking to get a good shot at a big one. And they have a brain pan the size of a postage stamp you have to hit so the turd doesn't make it to the water and sink.

So 9mm some type of carry round missed the postage stamp (diamond) by about an inch. Not bad on a thrashing target.

Nope knocked it out and gave enough time to drag it to shore lay it out for pictures. My son was sitting on it and I had my face about 1 1/2 feet from its snout trying to get a cool shot.

So I figured the day was getting even more fun when its eyes opened up and looked at me, then it started growling.

It felt my son on it's back and it stood up on all fours (taller than expected). It went nuts trying to snap at my sons legs and arms.

I tossed my camera, (never to be seen again) and cleared my sidearm. I ran back and forth in front of it taunting it to draw attention away from my son.

That worked sort of and my son got a better grip but now started chasing me with son riding it like mutton busting.

Son hollering shoot shoot, ?mmm his hands around it's neck and important parts right behind that, no joy couldn't get one off.

I slowed down my taunting and evade and tried to get it coming in a strait line. Well it worked my son drew and fired point blank.

I have a couple new rules.
Use a damn rifle you can stick right in the sweet spot (or use as a gator snack).
Don't go without an ice pic it won't
hurt any meat or hide / mount.
And some tape around the snout doesn't make you look like a puss.

Maybe some of the females are bitchy and high maintenance.
Since gators and crocs don't have laws, it aint against the law to just kill and eat them.

Never eaten either of them.

Plenty of crocs getting around, they need to sun to warm up and some don't seem to give a fuck for humans so it's petty easy to see them. You just use a spotlight at night and shoot them.

Crocs have very high rates of cannibalism so it may not be the cure they are looking for.
