I ordered some ADG brass to try for my 7 PRC. Been reloading only Hornady brass full length sizing using Hornady Custom Dies. It it really necessary to reduce powder charge weights because of smaller internal case volume? Also, if new empty brass chambers and extracts fine and case necks look uniform, is it necessary to full length size new brass before reloading? Thanks

You don’t need to full size new adg.

I’ve never had pressure issues near book max with adg but your experience may differ.

I’m shooting 68.0 h1000 on adg at 2905 with 180 hybrid - no pressure. Cortina says that the 180 hybrid shoots best at 2900 which I have a similar experience with

Probably! For my 6.5 PRC cases, my ADG brass is .4 to .5 grs less than my Hornady brass, which make a significant difference in MV. Most likely, you'll have to make an adjustment, given your Hornady load is a good one.

No.

Just keep in mind that I'll probably take at least 2 firings of the ADG brass to get them fully fire formed.

Are you saying you got similar MV to Hornady brass using 0.5 grains less powder with ADG brass?

Are you full length sizing the 2 firings to get “fire formed” or just neck sizing?

No. I'm saying that's how much difference in case volume I found.

But I did have to make a small adjustment to get back to that MV.

Yes, just FL sizing.

I watched a Utube with an ADG rep at a show booth. He was discussing the stiffness of the base of the ADG brass, citing its increased thickness and strength. He even mentioned that a sizing die may
have difficulty forming the brass at the base. For you guys that full length size ADG brass, are you having any issues with stuck cases in a die or much required force full length sizing? I assume if the case is lubricated this is not a problem. It may be the brass is not expanded much in the chamber until several firings so that there is not much forming done near the base until then? Of course you will be working the necks each time just to seat the bullets. Thanks
