Seen quite a few pics of Border Patrol agents during the gang member deport flights who had empty holsters. Some had sidearms but no mags. Then the South Korean coup footage from last year showed a whole bunch of ROK MPs with no mags in their pistols. Israel as well. Saw streams of restless periods around the holy places and some of the IBP officers not only had no mags in their pistols but yellow zipties running up the magwell and out the ejection ports...
 
This old shotgun's action is SO slick that it sounds almost musical. Burgess Folding 12 gauge pump action shotgun, produced between 1892 and 1899. It's immaculately matched moving parts enabled a skilled shooter to do 'quickdraw' feats deploying the weapon from it's compact position to ready to fire within a half second. A number of Burgesses were issued to courier guards aboard Wells Fargo coaches and security officers for Western Union Telegraph line crews operating through Indian reservation territory at the time and they were also a favorite for members of various livestock investigator companies. Carried in a belt mounted, open end frog style holster, the Burgess was the epitome of compact open carry firepower. Like other smaller, out of the way gun manufacturers from the late 19th century such as the Volcanic Repeating Arms Company, they were greatly dwarfed by other firms with much larger advertising and promotional departments, but nevertheless, they still occupy an important place in the history of firearms development, especially the transition from percussion cap to cartridge and repeater and the autoloader...
