Waah waah waah
When I deploy on a natural disaster response rotation with the State Emergency Services, it's in our fatigue management policy that the first day on site is a 17hr shift with the subsequent days being 12hr days. And this isn't writing a name on a cup and putting it under a coffee machine. This is back-breaking, hardcore manual labour: pulling tarps on house roofs, chainsawing all day, flood boat recoveries, flood house recoveries, collapsed structure shoring, sandbagging buildings etc, all in the summer storms 200% humidity and usually 30Deg C+ temps and dealing with mega swarms of mozzies, flies, backed up sewers no power etc
