I'm the lefty shooter that
@Thesepaperwings posted a photo of above. I was beyond thrilled with the L3i Hyve chassis.
I had the Grey Birch and ran it for one match but wasn't to happy with it. It's just not a good match chassis. Very narrow and kinda flimsy fore end. It is better served as a compact folder for a factory barreled gun. Good chassis, just not for match use.
Just not a fan of the PDC based on looks, and layout of things.
Now to the L3i Hyve. I really like the close to trigger, vertical grip. It's similar in feel to a Foundation Centurion which I run on my centerfire.
The forend is very wide and very stable on a bag. Integral arca is great, though it's not compatible with a RRS BTC-Pro knob bipod adapter. You'll need to run a lever or knob that sticks out further to clear the wide fore end. I grabbed a cheapo Amazon knob that sticks out further and it worked great.
I run a Jard trigger on my CZ, I needed an ever so slight mod to the inlet to clear the aftermarket trigger. Works fine with the factory trigger. This sounds like the inlet will be updated to clear more triggers soon. Either way, it's only a slight relief cut needed. Not a big deal.
It has plenty of adjustability to get comfortable like you'd expect from a chassis, but it feels solid like a stock. I really like that. One of my biggest gripes about most chassis is how they don't feel solid and dead like a stock and get kind of a weird reverb when shooting, this thing was solid.
It also balances perfectly with my 25" heavy barrel. I don't run the L3i barrel but it should balance perfectly with their 24" barrel also.
Overall I'm pretty thrilled with it. I don't usually write reviews of products but this one stands out. This should definitely be on your radar if you're a lefty CZ shooter or even a right hander.
