Anyone Make An Extended Lever (not knob) For The Atlas Bipods?

The Atlas CAL Gen 2 comes standard with a podloc style handle, are you looking for something longer than that? IMO it’s plenty long.
Yes. Mine for some reason when you tighten it, it has a very short degree of travel before it locks up really tight, and at that point it's still not tight enough for my preference. The, when I want to loosen it, it's almost impossible.

IF I'm understanding what you're saying, you know you can reposition the handle to give it more degree of travel. My experience with the Atlas bipod is, you can tighten it as much as you want and it will never lock out. So over tightening does no good. There will always be some play in it.

I do know it's adjustable; it just never really locks up, but that's not the whole problem. I broke my wrist a while ago so the strength isnt 100%. Even when I semi tighten this thing, for some reason it's way harder to loosen than it was to tighten. I know, it's odd.

It’s designed to not lock up 100% with its current washers. You need to modify the friction, not a longer lever.

No I do understand that. I have more problems with loosening it than I do with it not locking up really tight. Even if I only tighten it seemingly a little, it's still difficult to loosen when I need. I have read that other article and I may give that a try as well.

Reviving an old thread for a fix on the cant. I have a super cal and a regular. I've done the washer mods and it was better, but not perfect. I ended cutting 2 washers from thin leather (from a leather seat) discard the steel washer from the front and replace with a leather washer. Put a leather washer under the Brass washer and resemble. It made it 100% better. Super smooth cant and positive lock up without having to crank down. Try it, it doesn't cost a dime.

Huh. Interesting. So you tried the carbon fiber washer trick eh? I assume that’s what you mean by “washer mods.”

I’m a little unclear as to where you are putting the leather washer…or are you putting two leather washers in there in two different places?

I’d appreciate a picture. Or use one of mine on the first post here:

That makes sense, I do find that there is a pretty fine point between too tight and too loose. I disassembled mine and cleaned and lightly greased all the washers and found it to be bit smoother after that. The other thing I’ve been working on is learning to be okay with a slightly looser bipod cant tension. Too loose is much easier to shoot with than too tight, especially when under time pressure.
