Hi Guys,

I've been having inconsistent accuracy with my PWS diablo. It range from 5" to 7" spread at 100 yards.
Ammo I used Golden Tiger, Barnaul and Belom.
Sometimes it would shoot to consecutive rounds side by side then on the third and fourth it would fly to extreme right or left it seems I can't to get it to group tighter.
I read PWS upper are accurate but not mine. Is this inherent to PWS 7.5: barrel?
What can I do to make it accurate?

Check the crown
optic mount torque
Mark up bullet with black sharpie and chamber and remove
Try without muzzle device
Verify with another optic

The last half-inch or so of your barrel is absolutely critical. Any damage (or abnormal wear) near the crown will cause a significant drop-off in accuracy. Here are ways you can check the end of your barrel, using a common Q-Tip.

Use Q-Tip for Barrel Inspection

To find out if you have a burr or damage to your crown, you can use an ordinary Q-tip cotton swab. Check the edges of the crown by pulling the Q-tip gently out past the edge of the crown. If you have a burr, it will “grab” the cotton and leave strands behind

Wow even the 223 version has large groups

One of our neighboring agencies bought a whole slew of PWS's and about 6-8 were 8.5"? shorty 5.56's and they were horrid. With 55gr fmj training ammo, they'd struggle to make 6MOA. And without suppressors, they were obnoxious as hell (could be a factor).

OP, 7.5" 7.62x39 shooting low-quality ammo....c'mon man...garbage in, garbage out.

I normally wouldn't disagree with all of the comments about crappy ammo, but I know for a fact that Barnaul steel cased HPs are capable of some very good accuracy. I get anywhere from just under MOA to about 1.5 with Wolf HPs out of my Ruger American Ranch.

What twist rate is your barrel? What is the diameter of the bore? Somega barrels have a .308 bore and some have a .311 bore. Some ammo has .308 projectiles and some have .311 projectiles.

7.62x39 is just a big pain in the butt. With the exception of my Ruger American, and the stock of ammo I have for it, I've abandoned x39 in favor of 300BO. Not quite the thump, but it makes life a lot easier.
