Hello all !
Question regarding the windage turret on the Burris XTR PRO 5.5-30x56 as Im confused about a couple of things.
I have the “red” version with a capped windage dial. Just yesterday, I noticed a buddy of mine has the black version and it has an exposed windage dial, very similar to the elevation dial.
I asked where he got it but he stated it came that way. I compared the two and the labeling is exactly the same so seems like the exact same models.
My question for any one who would know would be….. I researched and found the DI Precision replacement windage caps. Will they work on a scope with the capped windage dials? Do they just replace the existing one?
THANKS !

Burris might be able to send it to you, the black XTR Pro version I got came with the capped version installed, but it had the exposed windage dial included.

There is a part that might be it, it's listed several places, but I could not find a picture to verify it.

Burris XTR PRO Exposed Windage Dial part # 626072, upc: 000381260727

By backing out the two screws you use to zero the windage, you are able to slide the capped dial off. The exposed dial just slides on in its place. Tighten new screws for windage zero. Done. No more cap.

I just changed mine last week.

Thanks so much for the responses guys !
I actually got the DI Precision windage turret in the mail today and it works perfectly. I did call Burris today and they stated they started giving away the second torrent with the run of all black XTR Pros. The red ones didnt get them.
Thanks again !
