So currently have Leupold MK5 5-25, and an Arken 5-25.
I have $1500 available, I want something better than the Arken. Just don’t have quite enough for another MK5.

What’s the recommendations?

I say the Leupold MK4HD 6-24x52 PR2 let me know if I can assist you :)

Whatever you go with, help support the commercial supporters. I put this thread together to help line up brands with sellers.

Won’t be getting rid of the Arken. It’s getting handed down to my niece
These kids are ruining the sport. They bring their good eyesight, strong back and knees, and flexibility along with the great gear that we buy them and whip our butts. Absolutely no remorse or mercy from my son who whips me repeatedly. At some point it should become elderly abuse.

So between the Leupold MK4 and the Burris xtr iii.

Which would you all go with?. I already have a mk5 the pr2 reticle. So somewhat matching scopes would be nice on both rifles.
I have owned both. I would recommend the Leupold if you really like the PR2 reticle so you have continuity between scopes. my only complaint was that the turret marks were a little close together for me. The Burris is nice but the reticle is fairly thin for me. I love its design but with my poor sight, I had to be on 20x or so to use it. The parallax on my XTR III was also VERY tight and hard to turn. There is also the issue with the dragon scale turrets. Didn’t bother me but my wife hated them. That being said, I did just pick up an XTR Pro from the PX.

I moved from
the XTR3 to the PRO as well.. The dragon scale comment is right on. The PRO is just a great scope.. I get bored and want to try new things but when I think about it, there is not much to gain from upgrading to anything over the PRO. By that I mean spending 1500 more vs the upgrade I would get. Money would be better spent on ammo and learning from that.

Don't count out the pre-owned market. Any of the 2000 to 2500 optics can be had for 1500-1800, and even if you end up not liking them...they will be worth the same if you decide to offload to try something else.
