Ballistic App issue

So I,m about to pull my hair out. I have two identical 22 rifles set up. Both zeroed at 50 yards. I have triple checked all of the info that I am inputting in three different apps (4Dof, Strelock, AB) and checked the chart that I found online. All the apps show around a 6.6 MOA correction for a 100 yard shot. Both rifles actually only require a 2 MOA adjustment for a 100 yard shot. And if you shoot at 100 yards on zero the impact is about 2 inches low. Shooting CCI standard velocity 40g ammo over a garmin avg 1090fps using a BC of .122 When you true the info it adjusts to like 1600fps and we know that aint right. You cant even adjust the BC enough to make the number align. Ultimately the guns are doing what I want them to, I just want to understand where I messed up.

Well looking at shooters calculator ballistic chart the app info seems to be accurate. I just can’t figure out why I’m having the results that I am. I’ve confirmed my 50 yard zero, it might be 1/2 inch on the high side. When I shoot at 100 yards that produces a group approximately 2” low at 100 yards.

That's a 1 MOA error right there. How are you measuring the distance for your 50 and 100 yards?

Man… maybe u got the unicorn rifle combo. If you’re measuring 2” low from zero at the 100yd target, I’d be taking it out to 300yds asap.

I shoot 1120 fps and my drop is 1.6 mils at 100 with a 50 zero.

Your data input gotta be fk’ed up.
You’re positive this is an apples to apps comparison?

It’s a Leupold vx freedom scope with CDS dial. It shoots 1” groups at 100 yards. Crazy thing I was setting up a customers rifle that is identical to mine, and had similar results. I’ve got a 2” gong on a Tpost on my back property line. From my deck to it is just over 100 yards. If I dial to 2 it’s a center punch .

Zeroed at 50, and only need 2 MOA for a center hit at 100? ……..
And it’s shootin’ 1” groups at 100?

What is said rifle ..?

So 2moa would be 8 clicks. Are you dialing 8 clicks?

The error isn't the solution the app is supplying.

It's the operator not properly interpreting what the knobs are doing or telling him. There is no way he's dialing a .22LR from 50yds to 100yds and using only 2 MOA. Not with full speed ammo or subsonic ammo.

2 MOA with typical subsonic only gets you like 65yds from 50yd zero. Doubt he's confusing 65yds for 100yds away.

2 MOA with full speed 1250fps ammo gets you 75yds from 50yd zero. Somewhat plausible a person could confuse an 75yd target for a 100yd one.

Hang on... CDS turrets don't aren't numbered according to your unit of scope adjustment, they number them in hundreds of yards for a specific set of bullet, cartridge, and weather condition. What bullet and velocity is this CDS set for and are you counting clicks to get to 2 MOA or are you going off the number on the turret?

Standard 200 yard shot with a 308 should still be ~2 MOA coincidentally but if it were set up for something stupid slow and inefficient like a 30-30 you might see the ~6.5 MOA drop you should need.

Otherwise, are you shooting at a high angle off a deck or something?

The turrets that come on CDS scopes prior to etching are just 1/4 MOA adjustable. I know it doesn’t make sense. That’s why I’m asking all I know is the red wing blackbirds in the wheat field between 100 120 yards don’t question it. But the math don’t math…. Christensen ranger, CCI standard velocity, shot over Garmin at avg of 1090. I’ve had this gun for 3-4 years. It wasn’t til I was setting up a gun for a customer that I really started looking at the numbers. He has an exact rifle, and it does the same.

All the apps agree, everyone else agrees with a 6-7 MOA correction for 22 at 100 yards. I’m going to shoot a group at a confirmed 50 yards then shoot another group at a confirmed 100 yards. Once with no correction then one where I usually shoot birds at 100 yards then shoot one at 6.5 MOA.

Again I really don’t have a problem, I’m just perplexed by the outcome and thought maybe someone had a similar experience. I have been using ballistic apps since the mid 2000’s. So I understand the solution is only as accurate as the info you input.

I can make it work on my solver if the scope is near 7” above bore line.
I’m seriously wondering about the scope graduations.
