Razor Gen 3 6-36: will 1.125 work?

Yes should be no problem. This is a 1.27” height mount on an 20 moa base and an M24 contour barrel and you can see there is plenty of room.

Impact action with 20 MOA rail, straight taper barrel. Will a 0 MOA 1.225 one piece mount allow the objective to clear the barrel if the scope has a defender cap? What about with the sunshade and a defender cap?
Yes you are good to go. But obviously it would crash on a flat top rail such as an SRS or AiAx etc...

I have three of those scopes, all with 1.26" rings, mounted on Defiance and Terminus actions with 20MOA rails and a Rim-X with a 30MOA rail and a truck axle barrel. They all clear fine with room for caps.

I'm mounting everything a bit higher. 1.25-1.5 even. HOB is 2.3 for reference. Puts the stock in the shoulder more and head & eyes up. Makes donuts & coffee when you aren't looking...

I would not go with less than a 1.5" mount. Most chassis you will be fighting for head position. Better to be too high and raise the cheek piece a bit than trying to smash face into the stock. Also will be much easier to shoot positional.

IMO 1.5-1.7 is the sweet spot.

As a follow up to this and for anyone interested: I’ve been playing with ring heights. These are Seekins rings, 1.00” optical centerline. Not enough room for a defender cap but it puts it very close to the barrel, approx 1.0 mm (0.039”) the best I can measure. Defender scope cap adds approx .150” to the bottom, so a 1.125 would probably allow the scope cap but it will be very close (like 14 or 15 thousandths).

So if someone wants to run defenders and keep the optic low, I would recommend the commonly found 1.25/1.26 or the MDT 1.18 one piece.

I understand people like taller mounts, I’ve tried them. But for me personally I always feel more natural with a lower optic. Still have plenty or room to lower the cheek piece if needed. And 75 degree bolt does not interfere. My only concern will be barrel mirage, we shall see.
