REM 700 SA prefit action?

I received my outlier rem 700 prefit barrel in .243 that I am using for my first build that’s not starting as a store bought rifle. I guess I should have done a little extra research before I had it threaded for rem 700 threads as my plan was to use a zermatt origin action but I now know those are threaded for the savage pre fits. Now I’m looking at the faxon fx7 for my action. Before I pull the trigger are there any other actions you feel are a better option? Most everything I find doing my research ends up being info on savage threaded prefits.

What’s it for? Budget?
It’ll be a hog/predator rig mainly but will do light plinking with it. Shots won’t ever be over 500 yards. Budget isn’t set in stone but would like to stay under 1k if possible. Going over isn’t an issue.

Edited to add this isn’t meant to be a long range precision type build. Mainly to fill a void in my safe with a small packaged predator gun for the truck/blind.

That sucks. I assume it is a Remage type barrel with a nut?
It might be cheaper/easier to throw it on a Remington action and enjoy that way. You’ll still be able to FAFO with all the triggers and stocks/chassis available for the R700.
Or send it down the road and start over.

Not to make light of it, but we’ve all made our share of costly mistakes.

That’s what I was thinking as well but figured I’d ask to see what the knowledge here offers. This rig is by no means meant to be a long range precision rifle build as the barrel is only 16” for convenience in the truck while being ran suppressed. My thought process for it is a convenient size package meant for popping hogs/yotes from the truck when ranching or in a blind.

Am I reading the website right? The barrel cost less than $300? If that’s the case, call it a lesson and sell it, even at a loss or buy an action that you can use it on.

Two thoughts. Call outlier and get them to tell you which actions their “Remington 700” prefit will work on. If you have an action in mind, ask about it specifically. Their list in the drop down menu isn’t terribly comprehensive.

Regarding actions, the Origin is a good choice in your Budget. No experience with the faxion. A used r700 from a pawn shop, might require some gunsmithing but would be a reasonable choice.
